This topic is amazingly ignorant
The internet hasn't been around forever, and was fairly new and wasn't close to being widespread in 94.
in all honesty...the internet became an "every day" type of thing around '96-'97. i remember i was either in 3rd or 4th grade.
we had computer class and it was the first time we did a bunch of internet sh*t instead of playing computer games and typing on mavis beacon.
the main use for computers in the late 1980's and early 1990's were primarily used by big companies to keep track of all of their "statistics" and data, for lack of better words. the every day person used the computer to type papers and play computer games.
e-mails became relevant in the late 1990's and when .mp3 files started becoming regularly downloaded in the late 90's and early 2000's...forget about it.
i remember when i was in 8th grade and only 2 or 3 kids had cell phones.
imagine that sh*t now...
