Miami is a major city. Period. I've never heard of anyone considering it as anything less. Of course it's not that big in population and physical size. Florida as a state is loaded with cities. What do you expect? I'm sorry to break it to you, but tourism counts is a contributing factor in what makes the "big" cities.
Also, your knowledge of the city is a.ss as evident by your "theme parks" comment. What theme parks are you referring to? Disney World isn't even close to Miami.
My comments about the 16 teams was not a serious idea by the way. Thought that was obvious, too.
my "theme parks and palms trees" comment was a way to generalize the ridiculousness of your argument and doesn't necessarily refer to miami alone. rather, it was a way to encapsulate the attractiveness of the LA's, Orlandos, Vegases, Miamis, etc of the world. i could've just as easily said "beaches and skiing resorts."
if you wanna call miami "fun and popular," then fine. but it's not a big city "because i say so" or because people like going there to shake their a.sses and relax. cities having tourist attractions is a totally different beast than whether or not it they're optimal for supporting sports franchises
if the heat were run by donald sterling, they'd get a real taste of just how "big" miami really is
