Costello is that dude, let me know what you think of the end and the movie as a whole, Alain Delon is the actor he is good, check him out in Le Cercle Rouge, L'eclise, and Purple Noon all posted here.
The opening gives you a image of being a loneliness and out of touch reality view of Costello. Tons of vodka bottles stacked up in the crib. I first interpret the bird in the cage as him trapped. I don't know if he could love someone, for instance the last time he meets up with Jane he doesn't show any genuine affection. The ending

I loved the movie, some really nice direction camera shots when hes walking out the metro for the first time. When you film someone walking for long period of times with practically minimum suspense you've done something right. The dialogue was on point. The overall cool style was there and definitely was laid back film.

Thanks again for the enjoyable recommendation. Got any more like these?

Fantastic Thread for the people who are just starting to broaden their horizons and see Film as an artform, and not just mindless entertainment... And are looking for help in finding the films they need to see...

I'd love to contribute, but I'm not sure I have the energy...

But yeah, if you're just browsing this thread and are not sure... Take the leap.

Yea, I'll drop some later, mostly dark comedies if that is your thing.

Check out Scorsese's After Hours, funny, dark, surreal, underrated.
