Some information on while Ireland is being kept

Ireland was able to distance himself from pat white (parcells) & interior OLine (sparano) plus rated Ryan over Long

Parcells went to see Pat White a number of times and made it known to many his fondness for White

not sure about Ireland/Parcells falling out BUT do know Ireland made it known 2 Ross & Co of who he was overuled on
Well I honestly never knew that. I thought it was Ireland the whole time.

Still.... the last draft was Jeff Ireland's draft entirely, and aside from the Koa Misi pick that was an awful draft that will once again set us back a year or two.
what are you on man? that was a solid draft

you cant help it that Odrick broke his leg after the Bills game. YHe will be a beast. He's athletic as hell and was destroying guards every snap. Merling was not gonna do s**t so I liked the pick.

Misi was good too.

John Jerry was doin good till he got hurt then was nicked up a lot.

AJ Edds woulda been great had he not gotten hurt. He coulda been in coverage while Dansby coulda rushed the passer more and created more turnovers.

Nolan Carroll will be solid.

Reshad Jones

Chris McCoy has great quickness off the edge and pass rushing skills. A project tho from DE to OLB.

Spitler is meh

pretty damn good draft if you ask me

I'm not an Ireland hater. I just don't see anything SPECIAL about him. He has his strengths as previously mentioned; he's very good at going out and getting what this team needs via free agency/trade.

I already knew the Pat White pick was a Bill Parcells pick, which is why I never directly put that on him in this thread or anywhere else. Those "draft gurus" on Finheaven have been posting about Parcells and his viagra injected love for Pat White for years.

Still.... the last draft was Jeff Ireland's draft entirely, and aside from the Koa Misi pick that was an awful draft that will once again set us back a year or two. Dez Bryant, Earl Thomas, Ryan Mathews.... come on. Any of those players would have been HUGE for us.
Furthermore,

With the complete and total lack of big plays the offense AND special teams failed to produce this year.... Dez Bryant alone probably wins us a few more games this season.

With the amount of INT's the secondary dropped this season, especially Chris Clemons.... Earl Thomas probably turns around a few games for us all by himself this season.

With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams free agents, Ronnie proving unworthy of whatever contract he desires, and Ricky seemingly on the outs.... we're now in desperate need of a feature back and Ryan Mathews sure would look nice.

Instead we'll have Jared Odrick competing for a starting spot on a crowded defensive line that is already productive without him.

i totally disagree.... odrick will be back in 2011 imagine how crazy our dline is going to be?

Jon Jerry got hurt also during the middle of the year which he was a damn starter as a rookie for a 3rd round pick he will be a starter in 2011

Edd's will help us out in 2011 to cover the TE's ( hopefully to get crowder the hell out of here)

Nolan Carrol was a good pick up in the 5th round and rashead jones showed flashes and will eventually replace yermiah bell.

Yeah I'm not really sure where he would end up but I honestly didn't think he was that bad as a head coach. Personally I think the Dolphins are way too conservative on offense and of course we haven't had a real QB since Marino. Jay Fiedler was probably the best starting QB we had since Marino and even he wasn't incredible.

So we drafted Odrick because.... that's right.... Merling didn't pan out. Another wasted pick. Dude is more aggressive when it comes to beating on women than he is at attacking opposing offensive linemen.

I don't have a problem with Jared Odrick. I like Jared Odrick and think he'll be solid. I just didn't see 3-4 DE as a need with that team last year, and it proved throughout the season. Odrick was not missed. Langford is solid, McDaniels filled in nicely, Wake is a hybrid player who moves in on passing downs, Starks is a hell of a player. Seriously, we had no use for another 3-4 DE. And I think this was before Merling's legal issues, or was it? Can't remember.

Like I said, I loved the Koa Misi pick.

The John Jerry pick was OK, but I thought we passed on some TE's who could have helped make our passing attack more explosive. This team desperately lacks a seam busting TE, which we've been missing since David Martin's injury a few years ago. Jerry did a decent job overall this season, and probably would have graded out higher if not for the injury slowing him down.

Nolan Carroll has a chance to be decent. He was absolute toast at CB in the preseason against practice squad receivers, though he was alright as the season went along.

I like Reshad Jones. If anything, he's already a solid special teamer (yes I know he terribly wiffed on Edelmen on that punt return last week) and I think he'll eventually take over for Bell at SS, but we needed a FS more than anything on defense.... aside from NT at the time of the draft, which Soliai really stepped up this season and we better retain him.

I'm not one to complain much for mid-late round selections though. I'm more concerned at the top of the draft. YOU MUST HIT ON HIGH DRAFT PICKS. I feel as though we could have done a hell of a lot better than Jared Odrick, and that's after passing on Matt Ryan, while wasting a pick on Phillip Merling in the same draft, so I was already pissed at their drafts.

EDIT: Damn that looks like a f**king essay. Don't judge me! It took me 2 minutes.

we gave marshall already 50 million why would we draft dez bryant in round 1? we arent the cowboys? look at them having to cut roy williams now after spending like 349834 picks for him.

who was going to be the OLB for us if ireland didnt draft misi? moses, anderson, francis?

why would we waste a early first round pick on mattews when rb's can be found in the later rounds and be very succesful?

same with earl thomas dude would'ev blown like 34343 coverage's already and been gibril 2.0 and miami going insane at least clemons is stable and cheap and doesnt make mistakes.

We'll see. I hope Odrick coming back doesn't make us reluctant to pay Soliai and/or McDaniels who are both free agents.

Edds will basically a.ssume Dobbins' role, and he should succeed there. He's very good on passing downs.

Again I don't mind any of the later picks. I just really dislike the Odrick pick.

The thing with Odrick is he is the complete opposite of Langford. Odrick is a pass rushing beast at 3-4 DE and 4-3 DT in different formations in Nolan's defense. We had great run defense this yr without Odrick but we lacked a pass rush from the middle AGAIN this year. Odrick would've provided that.

And Merling tore his ACL after he beat his gf i think :hmm:

Personally I wanted Jimmy Graham from Miami at TE cause he was 6'7" and owuld be great in the redzone for us. Just like Marshall but that woulda been a waste cause we threw fades to Bess in the redzone

the roney rule is some bulls**t

u interview black and latino coaches knowing full well they will not be hired

singleterry & leslie frazier were the black coaches everyone wanted to interview to fulfill that role and now its hue jackson and fewell
I don't think it's bs

plenty of minority candidates get exposure & get their name out there & eventually get jobs

Singletary was a head coach. Frazier is now a head coach. Tomlin won a Superbowl. Raheem Morris is with Tampa. Marvin Lewis, Lovie Smith, Jim Caldwell. Dennis Green got his shot. Hue Jackson might be hired by Oakland. Art Shell came around for a 2nd stint
