Already saw True Grit, and wasn't really feeling it all that much, didn't hate it... The technical qualities (like, the cinematography, the editing, etc.) are all great and phenomenal... I just don't feel like the movie had characters I could invest in (like No Country, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, etc.), or that there was enough tension for me to keep interest in it... By no means, bad... Just not better than what's already on my list, for me...

Nice list. Inception would probably be number one for me and I would have had the social network higher and Scott Pilgrim lower. I don't know if it's because I don't like Facebook that I liked it so much, but I found that movie to be very fascinating. Scott Pilgrim was just eh, for me, which surprises me because it's right up my alley.

Wow, because he like one movie and not another? It's not like Scott Pilgrim is for everybody. I can definitely see why people like it, but I can also see how someone could absolutely hate it. Trendy or Not SN seems to be geared toward a broader audience. It is what it is.

I hope I don't get slaughtered for this...What about Easy A?
Easy A could of been really good, but it was made by gay guy who wanted go his direction to take out his revenge on Christians, which in his case i guess is cool and if someone else feels that way too. He tries to makes a case for his gay is cool propaganda also, instead of letting the movie come into its own and be what it should of been without the hatred and agenda. That's just my opinion.

Dope list, I agree with "Shutter Island" being mentioned that high and find it strange that it is so absent from so many Top 10 Lists of the Critics...

3). Inception

It's a smart and intellectually tight film, and also a very emotionally powerful one too. I've been hearing this complaint that the film is "cold"... That's wrong. In fact, I found Leo's journey in trying to return to his kids and get over the

to be very powerful.
^^^Couldn't agree more with this right here...

And to take it one step further, the struggle to let go of something that has been lost to you... Was an extremely powerful theme for me.

The idea that anyone felt it was "Cold"(something I've heard as well), really mystifies me.

This post proves why you're as disrespected as you are in this section... You're just not very bright.

I could explain the tens of reasons why it's different, ie. one of the main characters is insane, while the other is a man conciously on the run and trying to get back home...

But it wouldn't make any difference.

"Shutter Island" and "Inception" are barely anything alike, besides the fact that in both of them,

.

Well they have that in common, as well as the fact that they're both excellent films.
