The 4 Mixtapes That Helped Launch 50 Cent

50 Cent Is the Future is the first official mixtape released by 50 Cent and G-Unit. The mixtape was recorded after his unreleased album Power of the Dollar was recorded and 50 Cent was dropped from the label and blacklisted from the recording industry due to being shot.[1] He then travelled to Canada to record the mixtape. The mixtape revisits material by Jay-Z and Raphael Saadiq and features New Orleans rapper Juvenile's group UTP. After 50 Cent Is the Future, he recorded his 2002 compilation album Guess Who's Back?, which "G-Unit That's What's Up" is included in. The mixtape was named the #1 best mixtape of all time in the XXL Top 20 Mixtapes.

No Mercy, No Fear is the second mixtape by 50 Cent and G-Unit. It was recorded after signing a $1 million deal with Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records after releasing his 2002 compilation album Guess Who's Back?.[1] It featured the hit single "Wanksta", which was added onto the 8 Mile soundtrack album and later as a bonus track in his 2003 commercial debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. It also contained the freestyle to Diddy's song "Victory", from the album No Way Out, which was later used on Bad Boy's 10 Anniversary Greatest Hits album. The mixtape was ranked #5 in XXL's Top 20 Mixtapes.

God's Plan is the third mixtape by 50 Cent and G-Unit. The remix of Missy Elliott's song "Work It", from her album Under Construction, which features 50 Cent, is included in the mixtape. Also the track "n*ggas" featuring 2 verses from The Notorious B.I.G. from his posthumous album, Born Again, on the song of the same name was featured on the soundtrack of the film Bad Boys II in 2003. After recording the mixtape, he released his commercial debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2003. The World's verse was used in the remix to Cry Me a River by Justin Timberlake. It was named the 9th best mixtape ever by XXL magazine.

He also obviously had Guess Whos back which was very significant(and arguably the best of the lot) but was a compilation album and not a mixtape

Yessum, they put out way to much mixtapes which meant they ended up short of ideas for actual albums(25 mixtapes in the G-unit radio series alone for starters)
