The guy produced thriller and you guys are saying hes being too c*cky?

This is like someone telling Michael Jordan , Vince carter is on his level

any man with courage would say the same sh*t
But Michael Jordan can't come out of retirement and put up the same numbers like Kobe or Lebron. Jordan might be the greatest, but his time has passed.

you mofos are f**kin dumb i swear. the interviewer did not compare them AT ALL musically. just in terms of everyone wanting to work with him. thats it. nothing else. and quincy went on an arrogant elitist tirade. ok good for you that you learned your s**t, and you made classics. fine. but that was no time to compare your music to kanye's because that wasnt even the point. the interview took a turn when he went off and went in a totally different direction that it was probably intented.

so quincy jones is totally in the wrong here. he could have said yes we are similar in THAT fashion, but not as musicians. he didnt even answer the original question

I agree. Far from a dis, though I can not fathom how you think Quint Jones is in the wrong. Question though. Would you compare Quint Jones to Kanye, seriously?
doesnt even matter lol. thats the point. no one compared them musically, just on the lines of being amongst the most popular producers of their eras. thats not a damn crime or an insult.

and no i woulnt, but no one is really makin quincy jones music right now. why would kanye? i dont think it would be impossible for him to learn, but he doesnt need to. hell a f**kin classical artist could say the same s**t about quincy jones, but that music was dated for the most part in the mainstream in his heyday. he needs to stop with that s**t

dissed rap? he said ye was one dimensional and he had way more talents
but what was the sole purpose for him implying ye was one dimensional when it's clearly he's not? it seems like he threw things he has done out there cuss he don't want the people to forget. possibly cuss of ye's success he is having in this day and age. I seen something that one said in this thread. "he sounded like he didn't know what ye actually does" and that could be true. "ye is just a rapper?" anybody who thinks that doesn't know anything about ye's career.

the interviewer did disrespect him
how you figure his work wont be remembered? hell we remember hip hop albums too. and kanyes s**t will be remembered also especially because dude helped define a decade. plus with technology we'll be able to remember and keep a whole lot of s**t more relevant in the digital age.

It just occured to me that Quincy Jone's son is the producer of the BEEF dvd series. Perhaps this is some kind of manufactored prelude to BEEF XXIV.

Whens the last time u heard Jesus Walks? All falls down? flashing lights?

Lets be real Kanyes music is far from timeless Its only been a couple of years and the masses forget about all his records
i listened to them s**ts the other day no lie and im sure a lotta people do. no they arent on the radio but s**t thriller didnt play on the radio all the damn time either. especially during the time mike was puttin new music out. its a whole new era. people still talk about kanyes albums all the damn time. im not sayin its thriller quality, but to hip hop fans it might be, and hip hop fans will listen to that s**t far into the future. and if you notice, hip hop is growing globally in places like japan, britain, and s**t even places like india. i hear j dilla influence all over the place oversea in beats, and what makes you think that the expansion of hip hop wouldnt allow his music to last? it took a lotta years for thriller to reach 100 million albums sold and have the impact it did on american and world culture. s**t hip hop was still new then give these dudes time man

how can you determine what's timeless and what's not right now? and how did the interviewer disrespect Q by asking a question in an interview? if anything Q disrespected kanye by ignoring the question just to throw kanye under the bus to promote his accomplishments. as if he needed to, and we forgot.
