n*gga this is rap music

name a song on this album and I'll find a hiphop song with a similar formula

What the f**k are you talking about this album aint hiphop because it has other genres in it n*gga that is hiphop

I guess the s**t Run DMC droped the 80's wasnt hiphop either becaus they used rockNroll beats

f**k out of here son trying to sound like music elitist and s**t
Learn how to speak kid, it's hard to come off like you have an ounce of sense when you speak like a drug peddler on the street.

Much like Run DMC, this is an evolution. People compare this to other hip hop albums and of course it won't measure up. I'm also sure a lot of "hip hop heads" at the time didn't like the Walk This Way s**t for the same reasons.

You can find me hip hop songs that are 9 minutes with a ton of instrumental? Really?

It's not about what's in the box, it's about what the box was made with. Sure the concepts and basic content has been done before, but the execution is fresh.

People who don't appreciate Kanye's music are usually stupid n*ggas who have no taste or sense of class style and art. Here is a man producing some of the greatest beats of this generation, while putting forward thought provoking original lyrics that are fraying away from the norm. This man is the biggest star in the game all across the world and is actually insanely talented, unlike people like 50 cent and others who are the idea of some suits at a record label. Kanye is the Michael Jackson of our generation

album is overproduced and lyrically ehh...

he also ruined a bunch of tracks that were released earlier.... why is Runaway 9 minutes long? why is there an awful, awful skit at the end of Blame Game? what was the point of added more Swizz on So Appalled? Why did he add gerenic singing to Dark Fantasy?

I can go on but f**k it...

Since when has Rolling Stone been a credible source for Hip-Hop reviews?

They gave the Carter III 4.5/5

This album defiantly is not 5/5 or classic, it's a good album. That's all.

People stuck in the 'rap music' bubble, won't appreciate this album.

This is music, this isn't a rushed out, generic 16 bars, hook, 16 bars, hook, 16 bars, hook format.

Is this a classic RAP album? Probably not if you're stuck in the past or underground, but it's a great musical album.

i see all this talk about it being great "musically" and i really dont get it. go listen to a prince album or some s**t if u wanna hear dope original instrumentation. blowin into a electric kazoo for 3 minutes at the end of Runaway isnt a talent. i gave the album 2 more listens today and id give it a 2.5 outta 5. dark fantasy is pretty dope, gorgeous is cool, power is ok, all of the lights is overproduced and annoying, monster sucks, so appalled is awful, runaway is eh, hell of a life is ok, blame game is good, lost ina world is good. far from classic
