People need to stop with the Kobe only guards one position

Artest said the same thing beforehand and he has guarded Lebron, Melo, and Durant.

Roy has a great all-around game. He seems like he can do everything on the offensive end.

I honestly feel like most of the elite players answer these questions the way they do because they DO NOT want to credit their biggest rivals/competition. Brandon Roy is a solid player but this is a major stretch. He can be as all around as he wants to be but I do not believe it's possible for a player to honestly say they'd rather guard Dwyane Wade than Brandon Roy.

Sorry but we (at least I) don't believe you on this one Kobe.

Artest said the same thing about B Roy. This just proves that B Roy has mad skillz on the offense of end. The dude is mad versatile he can drive, post up, hit a mid range jumper, and he has a nice long ball not to mention he runs that offense sometimes as well.
Artest said it during the Rockets-Lakers series The video's on youtube, go have a watch, it's so obvious he's lying just so he can't give Kobe credit (in the same way I'd say Kobe is lying just so he doesn't have to give Wade credit).

But Artest was more blatant with it. He said Roy, then went on to say it used to be some guy from his hood until that guy went to prison I've watched that video so many times, it's hilarious.

Artest is a f**king flip flopper though. You can't take anything he says seriously. When he was with the Rockets he said this about Roy out of his hatred for Kobe Bryant, and now that he's with the Lakers he's saying the same about Kobe and Durant as LeBron/Wade now = his biggest competition as a defender.

I'd rather listen to the coaches than the players. I highly doubt you'll ever hear an NBA head coach come out and say that Brandon Roy is the most difficult player in the league to game plan against.

Basically what Artest says in that video, is that until 2006, when Roy enetered the league, Mike Chapford from Queensbridge, who went to jail at 15 or 16, was the best player he played against. So no other NBA player was as good as Mike Chapford until 2006.

Kobe Bryant: Roy over Durant

While many of you have been discussing (with utmost civility, of course) the No. 1 and 2 rankings in this year’s SLAMonline Top 50, another debate has been started.

Kobe Bryant was asked who the toughest player for him to guard in the Western Conference on the John Thompson Show the other day. This was Kobe’s response:

“Roy 365 days, seven days a week. Roy has no weaknesses in his game.”

Is this a diss on the 2010 scoring champion? No. While casual fans see Durant as a face of the League and Roy as an oft-injured, not-quite-elite player, NBA players clearly have enormous respect for him and his game.

Kobe clearly values ‘complete’ players. Looking solely at weak points, Roy would have an upper hand. And it’s true Roy has had his success one-on-one with Kobe, which certainly is another highly valued offensive talent in Kobe’s mind.

Kobe’s displayed some serious Brandon Roy man-love for some time. And, in this writer’s eyes, this was not a slight toward Durant. Roy may not have weaknesses, but surely 21-year-old Kevin Durant is cut from a different cloth.

But game does recognize game.
He was talking in the West. Obviously, Lebron and Wade don't play in the West.

Uhhh....Blazers are good every year but thats it, just solid if he was that good he should be taking them to the West Finals with the supporting cast he got. But Roy seem like one of them players that are just talented an good as s**t but couldnt care less bout bball really, game comes so easy to em its like ehh

No..the Blazers were really banged up last year and still won 50+

They'll be fine if they are healthy. Roy is a star and a legit top 10 player..

Kinda hard for him to take us to the finals when him and half the team were injured.

That's because you can't play Roy like you can with other players..

With Lebron and Wade, you stop them from getting to the basket, they're off the FT line and they're ineffective. Not only that, but neither of them are great off the ball.
Durant shrinks in the fetal position when you play him physical.
Roy has a good mid range game and he's capable off the ball

It's not as surprising as it would seem that he's thought of as the most difficult to guard..

Same reason why a lot of people think Kobe's hardest to guard in the league, despite him not having as much athleticism to attack the basket..

Roy can shoot from ANYWHERE on the floor
Roy can post up and get physical
Roy can dunk on yo f**kin cranium
Roy can maneuver his way in traffic and score
Roy can hit free throws better then most players (85% FT shooter if i'm not mistaken)
Roy can slash from the baseline
Roy can dribble around most defenders to create a shot
Roy can come off screens effectively
Roy can create shots for his other teammates

What can't this n*gga do on offense?

Next Kobe .. i said this last year ..

You obviously missed last season when the 2 meet in Golden State. Monta played some great defense on Brandon Roy.
