damn so you just took somebody money and didnt give it back? thats bogus
Nope. Contract agreement from the jump for any job I do is 50% down, and once I complete the design that 50% is mine. Then I'll do the other half of the project for the other half of the money. I completed the design, he had flat jpgs, but I wasn't refunding the money or doing more than we originally agreed.
You did right. In my days of designing, there were what they called "serial refunders." People that would either ask for a lot more than you originally agreed on or you would complete the project, receive the other 50% and give them their project...then they turn around a few days later and open up a dispute on paypal claiming you didn't give them anything.
Little did these idiots know, if you tell paypal that it's virtual goods, they're just gonna close it out in your (the designer's) favor. But I had a few go to their bank and tell the same lie. Unfortunately, paypal always sides with the banks.
Yep, I haven't gotten anyone like that in a while, tho, thank god. I must have talked to the right person at paypal the day he went through the bank, tho. I explained the whole thing to the woman and she was like "I hate when these types of things happen, it really gets to me" and reversed it. Idk if they just paid the bank or what. But I got the money back in my account.
