Being honest, Heyward's going to have a great career, could end up being better than Posey so I'm definitely not hating. But we're walking into Game 1 of the NLDS right now, not 2 seasons from now. But I hear you, that's a miscommunication.

The Yankees farm system is doing some great stuff right now. They don't rely on rookies but I don't think you can say that they don't value the contribution of their rookies, which is the perception of many baseball fans toward the Yankees.
Yeah I know the farm system is actually starting to be built up by the Yankees. If a salary cap went into effect the Yankees probably wouldn't be as hurt as some teams would. The perception is there for most fans because in the 90s-2005? (might be wrong year) the Yankees loved to trade away their minor leaguers for players. It's not easy to have a farm system when you trade ever prospect away.

As Frank Castanza says to George Steinbrenner (larry david) in Seinfeld: "What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?! He had 30 home runs, over 100 RBIs last year! He's got a rocket for an arm."

As far as trading young talent for old horses, they did it last year with Melky. Melky was New York's favorite son and they traded him for Vasquez who isn't doing s**t.

They should have brought in a fan from the stands to see if they could strike a few people out.

My money says they could

Nah, we'll score 11 in one game and zero in the other 3.
