basically

this^^, saves me from having to explain

umm...

what?

mono is geared to single sub setups? really? so what do you use if you have 2+ subs?

4 channels are not only for door speakers. you can power a sub with a 4 channel.

and l7s, w7, and p3 are higher end. really, where they do that at?

stay out of this section if you dont know what your talking bout
enough said, he is on point.

The only analogy i can think of is an mp3 vs wav format...the class d is the mp3 and wav is the class a/b....

mp3's are smaller size but have less detail, but most can't really tell the difference in the detail....wav is much larger but will be more detailed....

the files sizes would be the efficiency...basically to get the same overall output you'd need a more powerful a/b amp....but the a/b amp should in theory be able to produce much more detail....

i actually switched from 2 600 watt a/b amps to a 2k class d amp and i could really tell the difference in "fullness"...it seemed as though i lost a lot of it, but the overall output was was way more....

sorry that probably didn't help anyone lol...was bored and that was the first and only analogy that i thought might work...lol...

nah thats where u are wrong. because a 4 channel amp is not gonna have as much power going to your subs as much as a 2 channel or even a mono . mono amp is more geared to single sub setups. higher end like solobarics and w7 and p3's are god to have . 4 channel ur only going to wanna use for like ur car door speakers and crossovers/tweeters.
shut up

It all comes down to power, final ohm load, and the crossover network on amp.

As the as the amp has a low pass filter, it can be used to power a sub if it's wired to the correct ohm load.
