What offseason? Just like NFL players train all year long, the developers at EA Tiburon are already working on concepts for next year's game. Now that everyone's had a little time with Madden 11, let's dive into what we want to see for the next game.

Apart from obvious bugs (like play-action), here's some things we hope happen in Madden NFL 12 divided up into a few sections:

GAMEPLAY

* New passing trajectories to cut down on linebacker interceptions over the middle
* True jostling and catching physics to remove the clipping animations between receivers and defensive backs
* New blocking logic for the second level so fullbacks and pulling guards put their hats on the immediate threat
* No more magnet catches where receivers, defensive backs, or the ball itself shoots into players' hands
* More ball awareness by players in the passing game, including better head tracking
* Make the fumble animations, minigame, and outcome match each other. Too many times what you see and who comes up with the ball is completely different
* Is it just us, or are right defensive ends invisible in the game?
* Let QBs audible plays in the hurry-up offense before they get under center
* Optional QB Vision Cone feature
* Better blocking by gunners on punts


GAMEFLOW

* Stronger defensive logic for GameFlow that better accounts for multiple receiver sets
* Make the playcalling packages in Gameplanning mirror the in-game sub-formation groupings, so it's easier to create your Gameplan

FRANCHISE MODE

* Practice squads, restricted free agents, and multiple preseason roster cut-down days
* Create-a-playbook & Create-a-play
* Highlight videos for The Extra Point
* Revamped Extra Point script that focuses on the big games every week instead of match-ups between teams with losing records
* New free agency system reflecting the frantic nature of the first few days of FA complete with player visits, teams aggressively competing for players, and the effect this has on teams' alternate options if they miss out on the prized free agent
* An NHL-style Trading Block system letting you tailor your trade block needs, as well as the ability to trade future draft picks
* Reintroduce a player morale/decision making system to affect free agency and trade demands (including holdouts) like The a.ssociation in NBA 2K
* New player contract logic that makes players on the street realize they aren’t getting four million dollars a year to be a fill-in player halfway through the season
* Character progression that happens multiple times a year and player training
* The ability to back-load player contracts and other tactics to manage your salary cap
* Steal a lot of stuff from NFL Head Coach, including the staff skills tree, HUD, and the draft experience
* Owner Mode


SUPERSTAR MODE

* Better playcalling AI for when you're not playing the QB
* Anything to add more depth and drama to the mode!


ONLINE

* A free agency system for online franchise mode, as well as scouting, a salary cap, and other trappings to add more depth to the experience
* Player team creation and persistent personal/team stats for Online Team Play
* A loss penalty for quitters before halftime


PRESENTATION

* Contextual commentary that discusses player streaks, injuries, league happenings, and situational stats
* Get Cris Collinsworth and Gus Johnson in the booth together to give the commentary some chemistry

yes, that s**t is extremely annoying

the magnet thing is another huge issue

the other thing, is the computer AI on all-pro and all-madden. Matt Lienart and Vince Young are not 22/28 350+ yard kind of qb's. They need to make that s**t realistic instead of it being as cheap as it is.

I'll believe this when I see it. EA promises a lot and rarely delivers. Either most of these feature wont make the game because "there wasnt enough room on the disc" or they will be filled with glitches.

The trajectory of passes been pissing me off royally ever since I started playing madden again

The linebackers with arms as long as apes and every long pass being thrown too low has caused so many arguments

Its like they forget that a football field isn't really on a slope like the camera view would suggest

The way lbs and dbs snag passes that are fifteen feet in the air you would think they are on a higher plane

Rofl...madden 10 and 11 are one n the same. All this stuff shlda been on 11....or should I say 07.

Madden 11 gets a new kick feature. 65 dollar upgrade.

that's because the game is scripted (which is why people was able to put kickers as o-lineman without altering ratings on All-Pro/All-Madden & have them be successful). Animations determine everything in Madden (same s**t that pisses me off with NBA 2k). 1st, they'll have to unscript the gameplay so things can happen naturally (all aspects of the game). Then, they'll have to add some type of physics & behavior system and not half-ass it. This will allow position, weight, & ratings to really matter.

But no way they'll do this, unless Backbreaker blows up (which I doubt with it's limitations). Maybe if NBA Elite can getting their stuff fixed in time for the launch.

Madden FAIL period. I havent owned a madden since 98 on my sega saturn, and the last one i actually played which was good was 2004 with vick on the cover on ps2. The 2k football was way better, used to play dat s**t all day on dreamcast. f**k madden though, people pay 65 dollars every year for the same s**t with minimal updates, makes no f**ken sense.

Naw. I meant all the s**t people ask for, some EA dude will say yeah we are working on putting in into the next game. I wasnt talking specifically about these things. I meant I have no confidence in EA to ever incorporate any of these features into Madden. My post wasnt that hard to comprehend. Guess reading is fundamental and you fail at common sense then again what else would I expect looking at your avy.

Quick question BX. Is it just me or when someone quits on you, you dont have the option to continue the game against cpu and get the win? The two times someone has quit on me it says something like "Your opponent has quit the game, are you sure you want to quit?" and it gives you the options of yes and no, when you press no it sends me back to the same question without the option of continuing the game. Even after having no other choice to click but yes to get out of it, I still dont recieve a win. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know what this means?
