MMLP, that album is pretty much in its' own lane, there was no blueprint for an album like that in the commercial sphere, he was able to combine witty, humorous, and shocking lyrics in a very masterful blend of lyricism. Forget wack, dude never even spit a mediocre verse back in those days, and you wonder why he was the only guest spot on Blueprint.

Honestly most eminem fans havent heard reasonable doubt they might have heard a few songs and they are listening to the beats and not understand how deep it is.

I just listened to it yesterday

And honestly? Proof? again you're being ignorant

And that can be said for Jay fans also... How many Jay fans you see in Em thread giving their honest opinions instead of just being ignorant and calling everyone stans?

I got a feeling dudes aint even listen to Reasonable Doubt PROPERLY. As in, they not catching all the s**t Jay be saying on RD, I mean DEvils... god dayum. Reasonable Doubt is a deep f**kin album, and to this day gets steady rotation. Like Jay on RD was just kicking some real hood s**t man.

Reasonable Doubt...

MMLP isn't even Eminem's best work to me..it's a step down from SSLP lyrically. Reasonable Doubt is just more my type of album..I would much rather listen to Jay tell witty hustler stories than hear Eminem calling out celebrities.

ignorant? no far from it

I give eminem his props alot of people know theres way to much gimmicks in his content with his albums and I have all of ems albums and all jay-z albums as well nas

Im a fan of all Hip Hop I listen to it all not some. Im not one of those people who puts there favorite rapper on on a pedastal in every category when it comes to rap. Jay and Em are nowhere near close top ten far as lyrics and just see ppl saying Eminem > Nas obviously proves they dont listen anything but eminem.

If you cant relate to the streets or hard times and reality, then you could never understand how nice reasonable doubt is! The marshall mathers LP is good, but it is not in the same league as reasonable doubt!

wow im pretty surprised that people are saying mmlp, but then again this is boxden. you can talk about jay not being lyrical all you want but if you listened to that album there's no denying how lyrical it is and its equally as lyrical (if not more) then mmlp.

So not being able to understand lyrics from the first time you listen makes you a better lyricist?

No point of arguing with you if you think Jay is anywhere close to Em lyrically.

You might wanna go back and listen to Renagade

Before I get called a camel warrior or whatever, Eminem, from a pure technical aspect is arguably GOAT, I mean s**t, PUN is a fukin incredible technical MC, but that doesnt make you great alone. Em can put words together like I have never seen before, when he does spazz out though, I always find myself going "man that s**t sounded incredible, but he didnt really say a whole lot", Eminem and Jay are 2 different artists, Em thinks fro ma technical point of view and is punchline heavy, he want rewind value, Jay is one some other s**t, you dont gotta use multis and still be a lot more effective. I use the same comparison with Blu Vs Lupe, Lupe is a technically better MC and can operate at times at a high metaphorical level, which closes alot of doors to his listeners, and no, that doesnt make me dumb, but at the end of the day, Blu is still a dope MC who connects with his s**t a lot more and more people are gonna relate to it, mainly cause they know where he's coming from and that he doesnt think he's too clever, (lupe does this).

You say you're not one of those people who puts their fave artist on top of everyone and yet you say Jay is on Ems level lyrically when clearly he's not?

Here are some lyrical rappers:

Canibus
Nas
Rakim
Big Pun
Eminem
GZA
Redman
Method Man
Mos Def

Jay falls outta top 20

this song is more lyrical than 95% of Jays stuff
