at me not watching football.

im talking about if I'm starting a team and I have a choice between Rodgers and Rivers to me theres no question the better player is Rodgers. Like I already said.. he's 2 years younger, has a stronger arm and is more mobile in the pocket. The fact that heading into his 3rd year as a starter he's being talked about as a top 5 qb just proves my point. Rivers has played with a better supporting cast around him as well. And I look down on the fact they go 12-4 every year but lose in the divisional round. Factor all of that in and to me its not even close who I would want at QB.
If Rodgers has a line in the next 2 years, that is ranked in the top 1/2 of the league... he'll be a top 1-3 QB.

He's smart, mobile, young, rocket arm, a great leader--let's face, I don't think there are many young guys in the league that could've handled the Favre coming back/leaving Green Bay drama like Rodgers did.

Currently, my QB rankings are as followed:
1. Brees
2. Manning
3. Brady
4. Rodgers
5. Favre
6. McNabb
7. Rivers
8. Flacco
9. r*pe-lisberger
10. Ryan
11. Schaub
12. Palmer
13. E. Manning
14. Romo
15. Cutler
16. Young
17. Henne

easy. He leads!
Which is the most important factor to me.

Not saying Rodgers doesnt, but rivers is the best leader in the NFL besides maybe Peyton (as a QB)

Plus, hes one of the most accurate QBs in the NFL, has the best deep pass, and is the toughest SOB.

All things considered, there isnt a QB i right now i would take over him
 FalconBuddha said:
Rivers going into his 3rd seasons as a starter was also considered a top 5 QB, hes also won the division every year as a starter, has the best winning % of any QB in the league, has won more playoff games than rodgers (even if you only count their first 2 years starting), Has amazing stats and has done it with WRs who dont get ANY YAC (something the packers WRs are amazing at)
I can respect both of these posts. I will say that Rivers might have the slight nod in the accuracy department and his leadership/toughness can't be questioned. However, other than that one game he came back hurt I can really remember anything special he did in the playoffs. The fact that since he's been starting he's won the division every year but has only made it to one AFC championship game and lost that is a knock to me. I'm not hating on Rivers... I like them both. But to me Rodgers is the better overall QB.

rodgers has only played 2 full seasons so it's kind of hard to compare. rivers does similar numbers with a worse offense. rodgers has a deadly offense and puts up great numbers. i think rivers gets a slight edge due to not taking as many sacks as rodgers and having less to work with not to mention he wasn't raised by a legend.

Worse offense... yeah but not by much. And if the ever mobile Rivers was blessed with Rodgers line, you'd be comparing him to Jason Campbell.

Thats not true, the chargers OL is garbage, but Rivers has great pocket presence, and knows when to get rid of the ball to the dump off reciever, something Rodgers seems too reluctant to do.

Not nearly as bad as the Packers line was last year (before they added Tauscher).

Rodgers needs to learn to get rid of the ball, I definitely agree with that.

BULLs**t!

Mcneil and Hardwick are both top 10 at their position. Plus Dielman is no slouch. They may not be the best but their far from garbage.

Its close but I would chose Rodgers because of his mobility and I see him improving as an elite QB as his career goes on...

You cant go wrong with either one...i would have to go with Rodgers...i always thought he was gonna be good when he stepped in for Favre when he got injured a couple years back against the Cowboys, and he was surprisingly poised and calm for it being his first career game...Rodgers has a stronger arm but Phil is more accurate, its a very close argument and you could make a case for either one

It's not my fault the only reason people rank Romo highly is because he's the Cowboys QB. I like Romo, he's a Wisconsin guy, and I'm from Wisconsin. I actually cheer for him, but he's not elite in the NFL.

He's athletic, that's it. He's not among the elite in accuracy, strength, and he's learning to be a leader.

I'm not trying to s**t on dude, but prove me wrong.

not much of a contest....Rivers has all the numbers and the resume.....

Rodgers is nasty, has a bigger arm by far and has great potential but he ain't f**kin w/ Rivers yet...
