naaa this lis isnt accurate... It really depends on the state and school district for some of them.... My dad is a principal of a school with over 1,000 kids a middle of the ground school and makes 85 k I have a degree in communication and work as a consultant and I make 27 k.... education is a dieing field in most states and the demand for those jobs has been cut in half or more plus the people in these fields making tha tkind of money are getting bought out for cheaper labor... Terrible list go into the medical field if you have any brains.

Here in NY they have all day kindergarten, plus even when I went to kindergarten and it was half-days, the teachers taught in the morning and afternoon. If they work from 8am to 4pm, that's 8 hours a day.

40 hours a week X 30.13 = 1205.20
Probably about 44 weeks in a school year = 53,028.80

I'm sure they find a way to sneak in 40 hours a week, even if that means stay past when the kids leave or something. You would have to start me at nearly 60,000 dollars to deal with 25+ kindergarten aged kids ALL day for 44 f**king weeks. I think I'd freak out on those little kids after a while. Plus, you would have to find a summer job or some s**t because there is no summer school for kindergarten kids. If you're a HS Teacher you can teach summer school and make a few extra couple grand.

u forgot taxes lol after all that how can u live on that.

Kindergarten teachers around my way make like $11/hour.. I don't know what kind of stupid s**t CNN is on, but a lot of these figures won't be achieved by 95% of people in those jobs they listed.

How the f**k does a purchasing manager make more than a chemical engineer?
Yea it is sad to see that type of s**t, like your really not doing anything other then sucking d*ck to get the best price for whatever the company needs. But a chemical engineer had to go to school for years and take a lot of really difficult classes

pisses me off x2 because that is my major...

He lives in rap land where champagne flows through his faucets and you never where the same drawz twice. In the real world 54k with benefits is a good job. If you have no kids you can stunt.

Take off about $20k from that (conservatively) because of taxes. And you still have to PAY for your benefits. They're not free. They come from your paycheque. I pay over $150/month just for my family's health insurance.

Then add things like car insurance (~$2500/yr), mortgage payments (~$15-20k/year), house utilities (gas,electric, water, etc) - ~$300/mo, other necessities (cell phones, internet, home phone, cable, etc) - ~$200/mo, food ($200/mo), and other things that I've probably forgotten..

You can't live off $54,000 comfortably if you have responsibilities like kids, house/car payments, etc.. If you live alone or have another person making that amount, then sure.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that kindergarten teachers don't make anywhere near that amount.

My wife and I, together, make a little over $45,000/yr after taxes.

That's $3,800/month. We have one child (9 months old).

Mortgage + Insurance= $650/month (We pay $700)
Car Note= $350/month (We pay $400)
Car insurance (2 cars)= $250/month
Utilities= $150/month
Water= $20
Cable(Tv, Internet)= $100/month
Cell Phones(2)= $120/month
Food= $300/month
Baby Formula= $200/month
Gas= $200/month
Savings=$500/month

That leaves us with $860/month after all our bills are paid for and savings taken out.

And some of you can't live comfortable on $50k a year??

It's called living within your means.
