275lbs(off season from football in Europe)
Shoulder injury, so I'm building up

Incline 275x3
flat 225x5 (uncomfortable because of shoulder but its coming around)
Squat 500x1(Just to see if I'm still in the club. No spotter, no belt)
But usually warm up at 315x5 increasing by 25, 35, 45
Finish at 475x5 or if its some meat heads in the gym 495x5

I squat towards hit position(football) not to when my a.ss almost touches the ground

i can honestly say i haven't maxed out since HS (2004) and i was nowhere as strong as i was back then.
5'11, 150lb
Bench press: 255, squat 340, power clean 210?, incline 210( weak i know)


now
5'11, 170lb

dumbbell bench: 75s (3x8)
incline dumbbell bench: 50s (3x8)

incline/bench press: dont really do it anymore

Squat: 275 (3x8)
Lunges with dumbbells: 50's (3x10)
and a whole bunch of other random leg workouts

i am weaker now, but i dont really care as long as im staying in the gym.

yup..naturally big and strong..other samoans..the rock..rey maualuga..jr seau..isaac sopoaga..etc...

i really dont do any kind of real strength exercises for my lower body.. just run.. and i havent maxed my bench.. but i pushed up 225 x10 last week.. and today for sh*ts and giggles i threw 275 on to see how many times i could throw it up.. and i got it 3 times..

i'm down here in tech school now for about another month or so.. and my goal was to bench 300 by the time i left here.. so i think i'm gonna meet or beat that..

Haven't done these in along time, should have gone heavier even tho I was still jumping really high. Some lame wanted to do curls in the rack and was getting upset, I was just like:

thats pretty sick. i never do jump squats unless im using the smith machine and even then i use low weight. im scared of blowing my already f**ked up patella.

Did deadlifts today but haven't done them in about 2 months.

Worked my way up to 455 with no strap/wraps/chalk/etc. Went for 475 but puked in my mouth.

Unless you're training for a specific sport theres other compound lifts to do. The key to squat jumps is to absorb the impact to take the thrashing off the knees. It's not something I do multiple times a week like back or front squats.

^ went straight to court afterwards and got 24 1-step dunks (clean flushes, no lay-in bs)

How many of u guys determine your maximum weights by one rep max? High school was the only time i ever used a one rep max for lifting. When i went to college for football the only lift we one rep maxed was power clean. When determining our max Bench or Squat it was never one rep. There was a chart that converted the ammout of reps at a certain weight into your max.

Every once in awhile I work my way up to my 1RM but not on a weekly basis. Those charts are good and all but they don't lift the weight for you.

i just do it. but only for benching and deadlifting and never for squats mainly cuz of safety. if u try to squat more than u can handle, it could get nasty
