threadstarter is an idiot. where is minaj on the charts. but u realize it had a crazy amount of sales first week and all those people arent gonna buy it again the following week. once it gets more radio play more people will buy it.

and who cares about how it does on the charts. fact is that this is the first serious first single that em has put out. he seems really serious about this album, there is not gonna be any silly s**t and no accents. he put a radio friendly song about a serious topic. now its not a banger so its not gonna get mad plays but its a good track. its not a big deal that it fell to six, thats def not threadworthy.

Being #1 on Billboard is a good thing, no matter which way you slice it...but it's these Eminem stans who see him go #1 and say "this is REAL buzz!!!!" like he's god or something...then try to compare him to someone like Drake (Eminem hasn't had a song as successful as Best I Ever Had in the US since 8 years ago).

Real buzz is being at the top and staying there...not going #1 and falling out the Top 10 two weeks later. It's probably #8 on iTunes now, lemme go check.
8 years ago? What about Shake That, Smack That and You Dont Know, which were all pretty popular.

^Also the video will drop at some point soon. I don't love the song that much but Em hasn't been a long-timer in the charts for a while and I doubt it'll hurt his sales.

Plus there's the whole worldwide charting thing:

Australia (ARIA)[8] 4
Austria (Ö3 Austria Top 40) 22
Belgium (Ultratop Flanders) 13
Belgium (Ultratop Wallonia)[ 14
Canadian Hot 100 1
Denmark (IFPI) 5
Dutch Top 40 34
Eurochart Hot 100 36
Italy (FIMI) 3
New Zealand (RIANZ) 8
Norway (VG-lista) 3
Spain (PROMUSICAE) 29
Sweden (Sverigetopplistan) 5
Switzerland (Media Control AG) 2

The funny thing is...you said eminem hasn't had a buzz like " best i ever had" in 8 years..

do you even take into account that drake was still a new artist to a lot of people when they heard that song...of course it was big..and one of the reasons was people were like '' hey whos this new artist this song is hot"

so it got a lot of attention..but where are songs like FIND YOUR LOVE AT ...why didnt that go to # 1 billboard or number 1 in 13 hours..on itunes?
I didn't even say that...so that's where I stopped reading.

Not as populary as Best I Ever Had. Most of those singles aren't even Platinum.

It's the fasting falling #1 of the year - now #7 on iTunes and still falling..which means it probably won't even make Top 10 on Billboard next week.
#8 now...

sooo are you going to address the international chart placings and their significance in terms of sales (if you say "international sales don't mean s**t" then you can take your L and leave) or just lament the fact that Nicki Minaj struggled to break into bubbling under top 100 while taking it out on em

This thread is about the US Billboard Hot 100. Why would I address a post about international charts?

Looking through the Billboard archives...there hasn't been a fall from #1 as bad as Not Afraid in all 2010 and all 2009...

LOL @ Eminem's flash in the pan singles. Looking through 2008 now...

Seems like you're a bit out of touch.

And surely Crack A Bottle fell harder? Perhaps not straight away but that s**t dropped hard.

I still fail to see how a #1 single for any period of time can be considered a bomb. I don't get the point of this thread apart from hate.

Crack A Bottle fell to #3 and spent 4 weeks in the Top 10. This song looks like it'll only spend 2 weeks.

And I found it! Not Afraid is the biggest fall from #1 since July 05, 2008 (Coldplay's "Viva La Vida").

...but Viva La Vida went on to sell 4.5 million downloads (#9 best digital selling single ever.) Will Not Afraid even sell 2 mil?
:( :(
