They say he has allowed around half of his runs in the first inning, so he is starting games trying to be fine with his pitches, and as Rice said he needs to go out there and be aggressive, that is how he pitches well later in the innings.

He has great stuff, I had this same issue in The Show and when I speed his delivery he has pitched the best on the whole staff believe it or not, he needs to be aggressive in reality.

Him and Papelbon need to train each other to switch styles, one pitches like a closer and the other like a starter.
Man every time out, I trick myself into thinking maybe, juuuuuuust maybe, Dice K has learned from his past starts and will come out aggressive. And every time, I'm let down and it's the same old bulls**t. The problem is, not only does he affect his own numbers with all this bulls**t, but it's the entire pitching staff because he leaves after 5 innings and makes our shaky a.ss bullpen pitch 4 innings. Not a good look

At this point, Theo might as well see if he can get the Mariners to take Dice-K in a package for Cliff Lee

the mariners don't want the headache or the salary, it's very uncomfortable watching that guy pitch but we are gonna be all right. at some point we will get our whole team back and we're gonna be a sight to see when that happens. the bullpen needs to be tightened up though

Naw, I know we'll be alright. Just venting cuz I'm sick of Dice-K's s**t. Really, I've been sick of his s**t for 3 years now. I can't wait for this dude's contract to be up.

Are the baseball gods giving us the losses we kept avoiding earlier? It is not common seeing a 60% healthy team win 70% of their games.

We just need to call up the entire Pawtucket squad and play them through the all star break so nobody else gets hurt before then, this s**t is beyond ridiculous

The funny thing is everyone forgets the break, people are going to be shocked at how good they are come next month. I am not even upset at these losses because we are still better than Tampa, it is painfully obvious, I think they have a healthy lineup and still can't score.

2 IBB for Ortiz? Just baseball karma, we will get that respect back.

Thank God Youk is playing tonight, and i agree this break cant come sooner. Beckett and Ellsbury will be back after the break, Buchh probaby will be too. Victor should be soon after and Pedroia probably like 2 weeks after

On a side note, that play by Cash where he picked off Longoria with the bases loaded was f**king sick...nice to see a red sox catcher throw someone out

Eh, I went into the series not expecting much. If we had taken even 1 game, I would've been overjoyed. And we were competitive in every game, despite our starters for the series being a bum, an inconsistent old guy, and a rookie making his second start.

Didn't Dice K pitch, he is no bum. We could have taken two but f**k it, I think we have Toronto next to beat on before the break.

Buster Olney of ESPN.com reports that the Phillies are talking with a lot of teams about possible matches for Jayson Werth.

Interesting. According to Olney, the Phillies are "casting a wide net" and continue to look for a starting pitcher who would be a "No. 2 or No. 3 type." Werth is a unique situation, as he will be a free agent after the season. It's possible that a three-way trade may be able to give the Phillies what they want, as only another contender would be interested in Werth right now.
anyone else like Werth? Solid player. Struggling a little this year, but why not try Dice-K for him? Dice-K could be a #2 or 3 in the NL, and only makes 8 mil/year....i know it sounds far fetched..but why not try it? Dice-K would be a much better pitcher in the NL IMO.....just a thought

I'd say wait and see how our starting rotation looks when people start getting back. I'd be fine with dealing Dice-K there if we have enough arms to fill his spot Plus, put Werth in Fenway and Jesus Christo, his numbers could be ridiculous

i'd trade dice k for werth in a second. dice has good stuff but he doesn't trust it, he nibbles on the corners too much instead of challenging hitters like all great pitchers do

According to George A. King III of the New York Post, the Yankees, Red Sox and Rays have informed the Phillies that they would be interested in acquiring outfielder Jayson Werth.

"He is the piece for all those teams," said a person not affiliated with any of the four teams involved. King writes that the Phillies could shop the impending free agent if they fall out of the race in the NL East, but it's also possible that they could that they could use him as a chip in order to acquire a pitcher. It would create a huge void in their lineup, but it would also open the door for top prospect Domonic Brown. We doubt it will happen, but stay tuned
nice..we need to get him since the f**king yanks are about to get Lee
