What emcees were blackballed by the industry?

basicly what cats do u think they didn't want to have succsess or get attention for various reasons... i got a couple

1. Spice 1: after pac's death, u would think one of his closest boys and someone who basicly put him onto the game would get more attention right?... but generic emcees trying to potray his image wind up getting more shineimage pac was a ballot dancer, a theater cat in baltimore... moved to oakland without a licence and this cat showed him the ropes to the thug game... he was already well established having 2 classic cd's in 187 he wrote and amerikkas nightmare... and to be honest in the early 90's was looked at as the more well rounded emcee outside the mainstream... he maybe didn't match his quality of music after that, but non to less still put out quality music and got no video or radio play

2.Chino Xl: maybe burned some bridges himself, but he is 1 of the few cats who is extremly lyrical and has the personality to have mainstream succsess unlike some other underground cats... a diss track to pac, and some harsh lines about quincy jones, biggie, will smith and other industry cats didn't make him any friends... non to less, he has had great lyrical songs, concept tracks, and like mentioned has the personality to have mainstream succsess... but it never developed

This stuff isn't even factual. Blackballing is pretty much illegal, so there's no concrete evidence to support many if any claims. Anyways Chris Brown isn't really an MC, but he makes a good case.

agree to an extent, dissing legends who happen to have a strong female following isn't gonna be a good look... i put cats like him and ras kass in the same boat... both are more lyrical then 99% of the game, but to be honest both of them don't have great personalities and have some questionable beat selection at times... i don't mind that aspect as much cause i foucs more on lyrical ability but I can understand how despite how talented they are they can rub some peeps the wrong way

i feel ya, but then look at rakim, it sounds great on paper, but if thier not gonna relase your cd and give u a strong push, at the end of the day it isn't as good of a deal as it seems.... U would think talented cats like grafh and budden woulda got great exposure with the backing of jay z, but that didn't happen either

I'm talking about Canibus and Joe Budden. At some point, you are going to have to appeal to these labels and sell some f**king records. Canibus couldn't do it and Budden couldn't do it either....even with a hit record. That aint blackballing, that's when being super lyrical goes wrong and your lack of achievments overshadow your talents. That aint being blackballed.
