Why doesn't someone explain the different between showing respect and biting then.

And be sure to also explain why it was okay for them to borrow that lyric from Bob Marley, but when Drake supposedly borrows from the way they structured it, he's biting.

Theres a difference between biting and showing respect in which cases rappers do show respect to the greats.... but i dont understand how such a mainstream rapper who is controlled by the music industry show respect to Dead Prez who is all against the system
so do you consider what the dude does in your avy as biting or showing respect?

yeah im not going to sit here and tell you Juelz don't bite because i would be lying but in this case I cant see how Drake would be showing Dead Prez respect by recycling that line

The REALLY sad thing is that no one here knows that's a Bob Marley lyric.
I still can't believe only 3 people have acknowledged this.

Not only is it a Bob Marley lyric, Dead Prez aren't the only ones to have copied it, and to the guy saying the arrangement is Dead Prez's, not its not.

It's funny when n*ggas are quick to throw accusations

Ok, only the first line is Bob Marley...Dead Prez paid homage to Bob by saying that because Im sure they didnt think that people wouldnt know where that line came from seeing as how Bob Marley is a worldwide legend. Drake took multiple lines from Dead Prez and the rhythm of it.

Wow, some people are so retarded, late, and just plain brain dead.

A) How the f**k are you just now realizing that this was a reference to Dead Prez?

B) Clearly, it's a way to pay homage, not thievery. If someone takes a line from the biggest single of a rap group's biggest selling album, he's not thinking that it's going to go unnoticed, although maybe he should because most people are 10 IQ points above retard status.

C) It's almost as sad that people have/had no idea that it was originally taken by Dead Prez from a Bob Marley song to do the exact same thing that Drake was trying to do, PAY HOMAGE.

you can be inspired by an artist but not use their exact rhymes or phrases..i may not be the best artist but ive made at least 200-250 songs so far and ive never had to use someone elses rhymes just in different words..if youre your own person you have your own feelings and should have your own way and words to express them..justtt sayin..dude made it further than me so i cant hate to much ya know.only my opinion as an artist.
