Great analogy if you know anything about the music business.
I know a lot more about the music business then you think...seeing how my family owns a record company and I'm highly involved in it. But if you want me to show you why it's a bad analogy I will be glad to. I mean I understand what you are trying to say...but the way you put it doesn't make sense in this case.
See an independent artist isn't on the same stage as a mainstream artist. Lebron and Kobe are both on the same stage, they are in the NBA. Also, you're using record sales as a replacement for Championships? That's funny, because people with the least talent seem to sell records, while people with the most talent win championships.
This is what you should of said, Lebron is the mainstream artist that gets looked past because how lyrical he is etc. etc. while Kobe is the mainstream artist going plat with many previous classics but his best years are behind him.
