I never seen anyone stutter online..

But yea, I think 168 is not a good weight for him, especially having to chase Ward around at that weight also..

Pascal's hand speed is underrated. if he let's em go, Chad's going to have serious, serious problems. i think Jean doesnt feel Dawson's power from the get go, he'll will have success early, and Chad will start to to time him late.

Dawson's Promoter Not Impressed By Cloud: Bute is Next

By Lem Satterfield

Gary Shaw, promoter for IBO/WBC interim-light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson, was not impressed with last Saturday's win by IBF champion Tavoris Cloud. In the HBO televised co-feature from St. Louis, Cloud won a twelve round unanimous decision over veteran Glen Johnson. After the decision was announced, Cloud called for a f!ght with Dawson, but Shaw says the f!ght won't happen in the near future.

"As far as Tavoris Cloud goes, it proved that (41-year-old) Glen Johnson is getting older by the round. And it proved that Tavoris Cloud is just nothing. Does he really want to f!ght Chad next? I think that he wouldn't be making a wise decision. But he's not going to get that opportunity to f!ght Chad next," Shaw said. "By the way, I had Johnson beating Cloud by a round."

This coming Saturday, Dawson takes part in a unification clash with full WBC champion Jean Pascal. Should Dawson get past Pascal, Shaw plans to target a f!ght with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute, and Team Dawson are willing to give Bute the homefield advantage. The weight is up in the air. Bute might move up, or Dawson might move down, or they might even meet in the middle.

"We don't have to drop to 168 to f!ght Lucian Bute. Maybe he would move up to f!ght Chad. That way, that would give him a shot at winning the 175-pound title and at the same time retain his own 168-pound title. But at the same time, Chad's got a really tough f!ght coming up against Jean Pascal this coming Saturday. So any talks about who he f!ghts next is actually premature. But, I think Chad will win. I expect him to win. And I would like to f!ght Lucian Bute next," Shaw said.

By Dave Spencer / f!ghtnews Canada

f!ghtnews met up with WBC light-heavyweight champion Jean Pascal as he put the finishing touches on his preparations for this Saturday’s showdown with undefeated Chad Dawson. Pascal will be making the third defense of his title belt that he wrestled away from fellow Montrealer Adrian Diaconu in 2009. Pascal again beat Diaconu in his last f!ght in December and did so with one arm, separating his shoulder in the third round. Pascal talks about his thoughts on the f!ght that brings HBO Championship boxing into town for the very first time and a.ssures us that he is 100 percent ready for Saturday.

f!ghtnews: HBO is already talking about a match-up between Tavoris Cloud and Chad Dawson, do feel that you’re opponent might be taking you lightly heading into Saturday night as your name might not be as big as some of the names he has beaten in the past?

Pascal: He might think that, but I’m pretty sure they’re pretty focused about me because I know Chad Dawson has a great team behind him and I know he was working hard in the gym and will be well prepared for the f!ght.

f!ghtnews: Dawson has been knocked down a number of times in the past, do you feel this is something you can exploit come Saturday night?

Pascal: Boxing is boxing. You can be knocked down, knocked out, this is part of boxing. But the thing is, even if he was knocked down, he got up and won every f!ght he was knocked down in. He is a great champion and he has a great chin so I’m not going to try to knock him out but I am going to put a lot of pressure on him.

f!ghtnews: Describe some of your preparation coming into this f!ght.

Pascal: My training camp went really well. I went to Columbia, I went to D.R., Dominican Republic, I went to Miami and I trained hard. Everything was perfect. I had great sparring partners, great time, and I’m ready to f!ght.

f!ghtnews: Is the shoulder still an issue, how did it survive the camp?

Pascal: Shoulder is not an issue, I was training to my full capacity and the shoulder did not bug me at all.

f!ghtnews: Do you feel that your shoulder and some of the injuries you’ve suffered in the past will be the only thing that holds you back in this f!ght and the future?

Pascal: Boxing is combat. It is a war. You never know if you’ll come back and you never know what is going to happen. So I’m not going to worry about that, I’m going there and I think I’m going to come back, I’m going to survive, and I’m going to win the f!ght., so the shoulder is not in my mind at all.

f!ghtnews: Any predictions for Saturday?

Pascal: We’re going to have a great show, a great f!ght, so be there!

Pascal’s trainer sees early ending

By Dave Spencer / f!ghtnews Canada

Dave Spencer

With just days before Saturday’s HBO televised match-up between WBC champion Jean Pascal and light-heavyweight kingpin Chad Dawson, f!ghtnews caught up with Pascal’s trainer Marc Ramsay who has been racking the frequent flyer miles as he has brought his f!ghter to three different locales trying to obtain elite status for his man in a showdown that pits two of the division’s best against each other. Ramsay described camp as “great,” saying good doesn’t even begin to describe it.

f!ghtnews: Tell me about the decision about taking training camp on the road and travelling to Columbia and the Dominican Republic.

Ramsay: First of all, for us, it’s always been the same; we have a lot of connections over there. We always have, me (and fellow trainer) Pedro Diaz, I was national amateur trainer for Canada and he was national trainer for Cuba; we have a lot of connections in Columbia and Dominican Republic and for us that just makes it easy to organize things and it makes things easier for Jean to focus and what he has to do.

f!ghtnews: You told me that camp was great, what made it so good?

Ramsay: We began as a transitional camp in the Dominican Republic. We just worked on general physical preparation. After that we went to Bogota which is one of the highest cities in the world and we went there for high altitude training camp with Pedro Diaz and a lot of people who are specialists in that type of training. It was specific physical preparation. Then it was off to Miami for specific technique and tactical training program and we finished it up here in Montreal.

f!ghtnews: Jumping to f!ght night, what is that you think Jean can do that 29 opponents before him couldn’t, hang a loss on Dawson’s perfect 29-0 record?

Ramsay: For that I’m going to tell people to tune in to HBO, because I’m not going to tell you today. We have our plan and Dawson is an amazing f!ghter and Jean is an amazing f!ghter also. Every f!ghter has their weaknesses and strong points. Dawson, even though he hasn’t lost, he has weaknesses also. If you look at the last couple of f!ghts, you can see it and it very clear and we’re going to abuse that element the night of the f!ght.

f!ghtnews: So you have watched a lot of tape and there are things you feel you can exploit Saturday night.

Ramsay: We are sure about it. It is something others have exploited but didn’t finish the job, but we’re going to do it.

f!ghtnews: Even though he’s undefeated, he has been knocked down before, anything you plan on exploiting there?

Ramsay: He’s been knocked down by Adamek, he was knocked down by Willie Lee at the beginning of his career and also by Eric Harding, there are also several times he has been shaken up in his career. If you look at the way the knockdowns came, it was always the same situation in the ring. We just have to produce that same situation again and we’re going to make sure he’s not going to come back up from that knockdown.

f!ghtnews: Do you feel you’re bringing in an element into the f!ght that Dawson has not been up against before, that being speed. His last four f!ghts have been against two guys pushing forty who are great boxers but may not have the speed that Jean does.

Ramsay: I think he might under-estimate the speed of Jean but we’ll see the night of the f!ght. Johnson was an amazing f!ghter even if he was old, same thing with Tarver, a very good veteran, but I think we bring something new to the table and we’ll see how he is able to deal with that.

f!ghtnews: I know you can’t bank on Dawson getting knocked down, but do you feel that it will be a likely occurrence?

Ramsay: I’m pretty sure at some point in the f!ght it’s going to happen for sure.

f!ghtnews: If that’s the case, you have to like Jean’s ability to close the show.

Ramsay: Exactly. It’s part of our strategy, at some point in the f!ght, we know that situation is going to happen.

f!ghtnews: Thanks very much.

Ramsay: No problem

Triangle theories never work in boxing, but Dawson should be able to box circles around Pascal, seeing as how Froch didn't have a problem.

Very possible. Chad has to KO Pascal, or make it unbelievably one-sided that the scorecards can't be any other way.
