The thing with Dead Space was, it wasn't really THAT scary.. what it did well was surprise the f**k out of you. Like in Resident Evil 1, when the dogs jumped through the window in the beginning when you're in that hallway and u go "OH s**t" and run to the next room to escape. s**t like that happens in Dead Space like ALL the time. Executed well actually. Very suspenseful.
The environment of Dead Space is what I liked. Millions of miles in space away from the world with a demonic telekinetic alien horde shoved straight up your a.ss. They made it clear early that you could be attacked from anywhere. Then you got all these dead a.ss bodies laying around, and never knew when an infector was gonna come in the room so you have to put the boots to them when it looks suspicous. Lockdown quarantines were tough, and when that alarm went off you knew a f!ght was finna throw down, no running. The last level was great. The sound was great on Dead Space as well. I am a big fan of all the games listed here, I just thought they nailed it with this one. I hope they don't change too much on the second one because the first one is fantastic.
