Have you seen The Passion of Joan Arc, Battleship Potemkin, or any of the Chaplin silents? I would recommend those as well. Shocked to see someone on here interested in silents.
Battleship Potemkin we watched because of the mise en scene in Film Studies, the steps scene in particular and the three faces of the statue lions? Or have I got the wrong film lol.

Haven't seen much of Chaplin's, just a few half films here and there. Not see The Passion of Joan Arc, have heard about it though, any good?

Yes one of the better films of the era. And Chaplin's City Lights and Modern Times are classic.

Yea Potemkin is the film with the lions and step scene (beautiful for the time). What film school did you go to and what are you planning on doing?

I've taken several writing classes myself, I avoid film school but I write screens/novels in my spare time, good luck and keep it original.

That's pretty funny smokeweed I've seen all the films you recommended to me. haha. i saw some s**tty movie called RSVP with Jason Mewes that totally rips off Rope. It was kinda funny at parts and they smoked a lot of weed but that s**t was amateur as hell.

Aspiring screenwriter here as well.

These are all great but very popular, everyone knows Chaplin. Indemnity and Rashomon are two of the best films period.
