LT>>>>Ray Lewis....

Ray is only the best of his time....you gotta remember legends like Butkus, Singletary, Nietzsche, Lambert and Bednarik were some of the roughest muthaf**kas ever to play, in any era, even now...

then there's guys like Joe Schmidt and Lee Roy Jordan who are so under appreciated thru history but were dynamite linebackers....

Lawrence Taylor... Ray is great, one of the best ever, but has also played with some god damn good supporting casts that have helped him. There were periods in Rays career where he wasn't even the best linebacker in the league, whereas the only player who gave Taylor a run for that was Singletary.

the game of football been around for a little bit under a 100 years...the poster is probably 16-23 years old...

dude has missed out on probably 60+ years of football and he wants to talk about greatest of all time...get the f**k out of here
So let me guess you have been around for those 60plus years. The whole point of this msg board is to discuss what comes to our minds no matter if we are credible on the subject or not. Answer the man's question and keep it moving or dont answer the question and keep it moving no need to get butthurt about it

For the record none of us has been around for that whole hundred years of football you speak on sparky, in fact none of us have been around for even half of that hundred years and if you come close your just coming off as a bitter old man!

P.S give me Lewis :dancingcool:

I think choosing one over the other is a great discredit to either. Individually I'd say LT is a better and more feared player. But Ray Lewis is more crucial to this team. There was a time when he was the most feared defensive player but he holds the defense together. He's more like KG now who clearly doesn't have the same athletic ability but is crucial to his teams defense and keeping everyone motivated.

except, stats stacked up, he has as good if not a better chance of being mentioned in the same breath as LT as Ray Lewis does...

So can he enter this discussion for the first time in two pages or what?

man its too tough to call for me. I used to swear LT would always be the best defensive player EVER, forget about the best linebacker. But lately I've taken such a liking to Ray Lewis, not only for his play, but for his personality. The way he motivates his team, his work ethic and his spirituality have all been crucial in my own personal growth. I can't answer the question as to who's better, but Ray is one of my idols and always will be.

LT obviously...
but ray lewis isn't that far behind, he is the best of this newer generation of LB's though.
patrick willis will be next when lewis retires.

ya his title under his name is linebacker but he mostly lined up on the line

ray lewis is a linebacker that tackles muthaf**kas from sideline to sideline

not a sack machine

theres a huge diffrence the way these two players played

im not taking anything away from one of the greatest players to ever lace up LT
that's not true L.T was the first LB to be able to line up anywhere he wanted just watch or listen to some old guys like montana or marino

i swear you guys have to be still in high school to even think ray lewis is better he completely changed the position of outside linebacker

ray lewis hasnt done anything that others like singletary havent done before at middle linebacker

and the super bowl mvp he got was because he was the defensive captain of the ravens not because he did anything extra special in the superbowl

i refuse to choose...it's easy to say lewis because he's fresh in our head and many on here have never seen LT play...but LT was a monster man.If i was choosin and making a team i'd pick lewis because i like him more but based off of skill they are as pretty dead even as it gets
