As a PRODUCER, Dre is easily top 5 of all time. Once again, as a PRODUCER. A PRODUCER is totally different from a BEATMAKER.

Dre is like the Jerry Bruckheimer of hip-hop music...

There's a reason why all producers give Dre the nod whenever he's mentioned.

Would ANY of Dre's protégées have amounted to the success that they have WITHOUT him? (Em, Snoop, 50, Storch, etc etc)

key world revenue generating rappers to date? and thats where it ends. go pick up 50 album and eminem album and see if the beats still wow you as it did before. the only person you can make such a claim is snoop dogg because that was due to the westcoast boom. you actually think the white audience go to buy eminem cd because dre produced it? you are a stupid f**k
Those rappers PICK the beats they want..

Dre has thousands of beats made, and Em and 50 just go through and find the ones THEY WANT to USE..

Yeah some of the beats haven't been the best, but who are you to say it wasn't just a throwaway beat that Em found and liked?

Dre is easily a top 5 producer.

Lol at people here who can even THINK to question Dr Dre. Gtfo. So what if Dr Dre has people to help him make his beats? I think ya'll just need to watch the Up In Smoke DVD again, which every song is produced by Dr Dre. Some people have to stop typing s**t or im'a be real mad!

.....huh yeah i guess you could say hes over rated as of late. the last of his best production was on busta rhymes album, big bang. since then it seems as if hes gives people s**tty beats until detox drops.......thats another thing dj khalil and the realfocus should just put detox themselves they will be making most of the bests anyway, maybe add mr.porter. i really cant think of any really hot beats that hes done since big bang outside of trouble for jay-z everything else is very basic and im saying that as a producer myself.

No disrespect Ole-G, but if that sounded like it was recorded in Mars, then what does that make today's hip hop?

how come nobody mentions daz dillinger when they talk about how much of a classic the chronic or alot of deathrows hits were?
Been saying this. The GFunk Era started when Snoop/Daz/Warren G came on the scene. His whole sound was completely different from his NWA stuff. When he left death Row his sound changed right around the time Storch & Mel Man came into his camp. If you listen to most of the best death Row music, alot of it is "co-produced" by Daz. The Chronic, All Eyez On Me, & Doggystyle are mostly considered the best death Row stuff. He produced on the Chronic, produced or coproduced on 8 songs off Doggystyle, & produceed the lead single off All Eyez (Cali Love & Cali Love remix). Him along w/Warren G are the true architects of the "GFunk" sound. Plus remember Daz/Snoop/Warren all had a working relationship without Dre.

Same for the first Aftermath days. I'm from the Pittsburgh area. Mel-Man & Sam Sneed were damn near legendary in the area. Dre scooped up both them cats during the death Row days. Sneed realeased "Think U Betta Recognize" on murder Was The Case. But Sneed "co-produced" Keep They Heads Ringing & Natural Born k!llaz. Dre used Mel's drum sound/pattern & Storch's piano sound starting on 2001. Mel "co-produced" the entire 2001 album, & 5 songs on Marshal Mathers Album.

Not saying Dre isn't talented, but I will say his talents are more along the lines of having a good ear for others
