The Departed was very overrated, but it did have a great cast.
There Will Be Blood was boring as hell!!! Daniel Day did a good job; it was the only reason I continued to watch it.
And maybe a couple of those movies I haven't seen. Just only heard of them
This list sucks by the way for the simple fact that City of God and The Dark Knight isn't on there.

1. There Will Be Blood
2. Children of Men
3. Mulholland Drive
4. A History of Violence
5. No Country for Old Men
6. The Incredibles
7. Brokeback Mountain
8. The Departed
9. Mystic River
10. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Decent list by Peter Travers, although the only movies I think that really belong in the top 10 are There Will Be Blood, The Departed, Mystic River, LOTR, and maybe No Country for Old Men. The rest are all good movies too, but probably wouldn't be in my top 10. City of God and k!ll Bill are missing.
k!ll Bill movies should definitely be on the list...would be dope if City Of God got some rep too...

Explain City of God being overrated? It is as good a gangster film as Goodfellas or Pulp Fiction yet recieves half the attention (due to its foreign nature), Snatch is an original film hard to find this decade with a great script again hard to find, Lock Stock is overrated nonsense.
I guess its just taste. City of god wasnt bad, but it wasnt like the best gangstermovie ever or something. It doesnt even deserve to be on the same shelf as Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas, but i dont think it has anything to do with the fact that its foreign. Here in the Netherlands it has gotton alot of attention, it has been aired a couple of times even.

Lock stock was good man why would you say that its overrated and Snatch is so original?:sad-smiley-028:

The characters and dialogue of Snatch kept me hooked, Lock Stock was hit or miss and wasn't consistent, I found it too serious as well.

What does this have to do with 2000's? Half of these are 90's.

But, that's where I think our opinions differ. i mean, c'mon now. Snatch and "Lock, Stock, & Two Smoking Barrels" are the exact same type of movie. In fact, nearly every Guy Ritchie film is the same type of movie as the previous one. Snatch is great, but it's great as a Guy Ritchie film only because his films are always the same thing (with the glaring exception of "Swept Away"). As much as you criticize Tarantino for taking things from other movies, I'm surprised you didn't hate "Snatch" for all that it took from other films in the genre including Guy Ritchie's previous film.

Yeah, Ritchie had one original movie in Lock, Stock and since then he has basically tried to remake that one movie 3 times. I loved Snatch and thought it was better than Lock, Stock, but it wasn't original at all. Revolver and Rocknrolla were both very disappointing attempts to make another Snatch or Lock, Stock. I'm glad he's finally moved on to something different with Sherlock Holmes. I've been hearing good things about that.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to see what he does with some material that isn't his own.
