they've had a late-arriving crowd for years, even when they had shaq and were winning games and a championship, they were i believe a top 3 team in attendance it always looked empty early, but it usually filled up later on. this season not so much. i don't know if it's season ticket holders just not showing up or the recession, but they pitch ticket sales on all the broadcasts heavily. a lot of teams r feeling it.

problem is at Land Shark Stadium and at the Heat's arena the stair ways are the same colors as the seats. Always looks like HUGE gaps in the seating.

Also Miami fans for some reason have always arrived late to games. The last game I attended was the Dolphins/Bucs game and the stadium was packed from the 2nd qrt. - 3rd qrt. but towards the end of the 4th everybody was already leaving.

A majority of Miami fans that attend are season ticket holders for several several years (Miami and Florida in general is over ran with retired elderly people). So a lot of the older generatin of seat holders leave their seats empty and watch games from their home. My buddy and his dad have had the same seats now for over 30 years and only have gone to the last 40% of home games...

The stair ways are the same color as the seats though so especially in Miami Heat games you always see those HUGE gaps between the stands and it looks like empty seats at first glance. It's really just huge stair ways between the aisles.

The fans aren't fairweather like Shootar said - a lot of the times they're just f**king weird and show up when half the game is over... i never understood that.

i never understood that but i know ppl can buy those tickets @ the gates i remember when i went to an orlando game back in 06 we didnt have tickets we bout $60 tickets (didnt sell) that were 300 and almost got floor seats we had really good seats

Cause them folks in miami think they too cool to go to the games on time. On top of that they come once its started for big games. Them few fans that be there those are the real fans.........plus its a recession!

Im a big heat but im in NY and always wondered the same thing. But as someone who
traveled to south beach plenty of times i think u have to factor in race with poverty and the nightlife. How many cubans, dominicans, and spanish people in general are basketball fans?not many at all and only the celebrities show up to the big time games to be seen

U of Miami is a private school and there are only 15,000-16,000 students and not all of them go to the games and you do gotta factor in the other s**t in the city...there so much s**t going on compared to places like, cleveland, detroit and s**t. you dont really understand until you live down here or in a really live city
