first of all I was laughing at the fact that they are even looking at Holliday, its just getting to be hilarious at this point.

and how are we disrespectful? because we traded him and want him back? did we hurt his feelings?
but i also find it funny we want him back...actually more pathetic
They're not throwing out another 100MM contract. Holliday/Boras can f**k off. Right now their main goal is to bring back Damon for Abreu Money (2YR/19MM). Matt Holliday is just over k!ll. Unless we can some how pry Jurrjens/Soriano for Swisher, there's no way we're dealing Nick.

The Angels have offered SP Joe Saunders, SS Erick Aybar and CF Peter Bourjos to the Blue Jays for ace Roy Halladay, according to the Toronto Sun.
The offer could put the Angels in the driver's seat for Toronto's ace; they have been the most aggressive in negotiations and possess the requisite ammunition to get a deal done. Saunders, 28, was 16-7 with a 4.60 earned run average in 31 starts in 2009. Aybar, who will turn 26 next month, hit .312 with five homers and 58 RBIs in 137 games. Bourjos, 22, is a highly-regarded speedster. Saunders and Aybar are both three years away from free agency. The story notes that the Blue Jays would likely trade recently-signed shortstop Alex Gonzalez if they acquired Aybar.
They ask for the moon from the RedSox/Yankees but if Toronto ever takes that package for Halladay, that newly hired GM should be fired. Saunders would get absolutely slaughtered in the AL Beast, Aybar nothing to write home about and that other dude projects as a CF'er where they have the great Vernon Wells locked up till 2020 or some s**t.

^well, word is the rangers are tryna deal Lowell to Texas and sign Adrian Beltre. Which makes it more stupid cuz the Sox is still in the hole with 5 players (Varitek, Ortiz, V-mart, Youkilis, Beltre) with only 4 positions available (C, 1B, 3B, DH) and we know DH is ortiz so who gonna be at 3rd? Beltre. Who gonna be at first? Youkilis. So who's catching? your captain or the better catcher?

Orioles acquired RHP Kevin Millwood and cash from the Rangers for RHP Chris Ray and a player to be named later.
The "cash" portion of the deal is worth $3 million and will help cover some of the $12 million salary Millwood is set to earn in 2010. It's not always easy for Baltimore to take on payroll, but they're getting a solid starter and probable staff leader. Millwood, 34, went 13-10 this past season with a 3.67 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 31 starts.
Damn they dealt their ace for damaged goods and salary relief and spent it on Harden. Harden's going to have to pitch 30 starts this year to justify this move.

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports a preliminary agreement is in place that would send 3B Mike Lowell to Texas and C Max Ramirez to Boston.
According to Rosenthal, the deal is only waiting on approval from Boston ownership. The Red Sox have agreed to eat nearly all of the $12 million remaining on Lowell's contract to acquire the 25-year-old Ramirez, who carries a .299/.398/.486 batting line in 1,800 minor league at-bats. Once the deal is finalized, the Red Sox will be free and clear to bid on free agent third baseman Adrian Beltre, who they've coveted all winter.
Good job but if they give Beltre the 5 year deal he's been asking for, they'll be dissapointed just like Seattle has been the past 5 years.

Rangers, Red Sox Nearing Lowell Deal
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [December 10 at 12:34am CST]

12:34am: MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reminds us that because of the large amount of money changing hands, Bud Selig would have to sign off on the deal as well.

THURSDAY, 12:13am: Rosenthal spoke to a source who indicated that the deal "could still blow up" because of Lowell's hip and thumb issues.

WEDNESDAY, 11:50pm: The Boston Herald reports that "it appears the deal is done."
And yeah Stunna, I'm nervous about signing Beltre at all, let alone giving him anything longterm

9Million to pay Lowell to leave plus the rumored 11-13Mill per year Beltre wants. A lot of money to pay for a marginal upgrade at 3B.

3b- Beltre
1b- Youk
DH- Ortiz
C- Victor
Varitek- f**k off

Varitek knows hes the backup, as he should, guys absolute garbage, I've wanted him out of Boston for a few years now, I'm so tired of him.

Me too, I'd rather make a play for Cabrera, but Beltre is better than Lowell. I love Mike, but its painful to see him bat and run, its his time to go.

I'd say its more than marginal, I'm not saying Beltre is gonna save us, but he's better than Lowell. I just fear hes gonna sign some stupid money deal here, start beasting then get hurt and f**k us. Cant trust Beltre, his best season came in a contract year, so I dont know how to feel about him

IDK man, I'd actually consider it a downgrade for what it took to pay Lowell, and what the years/millions Beltre is about to make.

2009 Beltre - 449AB's, .265BA, 8HR's, 44RBI, .304OBP, .683OPS

2009 Lowell - 445AB's, .290BA, 17HR's, 75RBI, .337OBP, .811OPS.

Wow, after inspecting the #'s and all the factors mentioned earlier, Theo Lost.

thats great and all, but i dont care about last years numbers concerning Lowell, because the guy is old, and beat up. Couldnt run down the line anymore, not as good a fielder as he used to be. I'm pretty confident Beltre will have better stats than Lowell this year, regardless of where both of them are playing. And I'm not agreeing with theo to get beltre, because i dont think he's anything special, I'd much rather give up prospects for Miggy

IDK if Miggy's available yet. He'd rake at Fenway, but the Sox definately won't budge with the prospects. Plus Beltre's coming off a career threatening injury (injured testicle) LMAO. Anything more than a 2YR deal to Beltre is suicide.

Renteria actually made sense at the time. Dude was a gold glove shortstop and solid offensively. Just something about Fenway f**ked his glove up I never understood going after Lugo, not once.
