Come on homie. Garbage? Cheap has nothing to do with it, everybody values everything differently. Before I got promoted at Directv I used to be a field technician so I've literally seen thousands of TVs, and to say that Vizio's are trash or that the only good brands are Sony, Sammy, and Panny (like Sharp doesn't exist) is just ridiculous. If you have a Vizio calibrated properly you can get a DAMN good picture. The only real issue I see with a Vizio is the lack of AV ports when compared to some other brands nowadays.

of course if a hdtv is calibrated is right it can look great, but most people don't go that far into it

i personally have this t.v., send it back please,i've owned mine 9 mos. and the main board went out, in which it took geek sqaud 3 times coming to my house to tell me it's a common problem and the parts constintally on back order. So after 6 weeks the part finally came in and i tried everything to return it. biggest waste of $1000 i ever wiped my a$$ with.

Take it from someone who worked at Best Buy before, return that tv ASAP. Insignia is best buys brand. That means that its cheaply made so that Best Buy can make maximum profit. When making a purchase such as a tv, you want to go with a reliable brand. This is coming from someone that would buy a Vizio tv, so just think at how bad I value insignia. I bought a car deck from insignia from my father, and within 2 months it wouldn't play cds. I never buy store brands anymore unless its cables and such.

All three of mine are calibrated. What the hell is the point of owning it if you don't want to get he best possible picture out of it? If that's the case you might as well go cheap.

you can use Avia or DVE calibration dvd's (they have em on Amazon.com)

or you can go to a specialized home theatre store and pay for them to calibrate your tv

If your going to go with a 1080p tv make sure its at least 120hz, but the brand really has nothing to do with it. My grandmother has a insignia in her sun room and it looks decent. You wouldn't even be able to tell that its an insignia. So if you like it keep it, but if I were you I would bring it back for a 1080p 120hz tv

120hz sets look like s**t. Maybe for sports there great but not from watching tv shows or movies.
