He is one of the most consistent players I have ever seen. He has never had a season worse than .290 I believe. It all depends on injuries. Some players age really quickly. I think the wear and tear will catch up to him playing a position as demanding as SS and since we know he isn't on the juice, I don't see him having career numbers like Bonds at the age of 38, 39, and 40. I personally think he will top out somewhere around 3,500-3,600 hits. Jeter keeps himself in great shape, so we shall see. It would be nice to see someone make a run at 4,000 but in this day in age I don't think it will happen, but hey Randy Johnson won like 75 games in his 40's so anything is possible I guess.
