Overrated??? nah.... Its as great as its said to be... I don't exactly consider it to be the best rap album I've ever heard, but it is probably 2nd best.....

Ready To Die by Biggie takes the most overrated album title anyday...
ready to die is on of the best debut albums ever... thats like a fact

It may be to many, but personally... Be by Common >>>> Ready to Die... the Eminem Show >>>> Ready to Die... There are many albums I consider better than Ready To Die...

Half of it was hot, while some was just unlistenable.. As an overall album I would consider it crap because I have to constantly skip over s**t and the usbject matter hardly deviates from the same old boring I'll k!ll you, and smack and mack hoes bulls**t... Subject matter with substance is the most importamnt thing to me in a rapper. You can be the most lyrical rapper ever, but if you rap about bs, you're still only rapping about bs.... And I don't normally buy bs...

I dont really consider what he talked about b.s. It might not be the subject matter that you want to hear about, but he was tellin stories, being witty, rhymin like crazy, great beat selection. I kind of look at it the opposite. Usually to me it doesnt matter what you are talking about, but more so the words you choose to describe your subject, and biggie was great at that. smooth no matter what on that album. no disrespect

"hip hop" today isn't and should never be compared to the earlier s**t..just is completely different..the standards have changed n it's just horrible lol
Agreed....today's hip hop is completely different, but different is not necessarily a bad thing. Wayne appeals to the younger generation (more punch lines, less substance) and true his records wouldn't have gotten any play 10 years ago.....but to the earlier post, facts is facts, you cannot deny 1million+ in the first week, no matter what era.....but overrated???
