The "V's"
 

 
Right so I've been noticing that it's not just men that can have what I call the "V's" but women can have them too, perfect example is Jesikah Maximus:

So I was wondering are these V's genetic or can you get them through certain exercises? Because I know a friend who did a lot of sport when she was young and still has them but with her it's impossible to say whether these are genetic or from her intense athletic regime when she was growing up. I know men can define and "build" them but I dunno about women. I think they look s3xy as hell does anyone know if this is genetically determined or is there a hope of working these out image

What you're asking about is the V-taper, which is a result of lat development from pull-ups, chin-ups, and the like, which gives the illusion of having a narrow waist.

Hour-glass figure and V-taper are completely different things.

...and that first pic, her midsection looks touched up.

So your saying you cannot have an hour glass figure and a "V" shape. Because girlie seems to have an hour glass figure like myself and also have V's. I'm just asking if they are able to gain from working out or genetic but since you mentioned chin ups etc I'm guessing they are attainable through working out...

I get you on the photoshop s**t though that's a given.

everyone wants that lower abs V-shape. how do you get it?This "V" is actually the tendons of the external obliques as well as the lower portion of the rectus abdominis.



So really, the only way to "get" this V-shape is to train your obliques and the lower portion of your abdominals. And of course, you have to get your body fat down to a fairly low level. u hear that??? u need 2 have a LOW BODY FAT PERCENTAGE IF U WANNA SEE THE HIP FLEXOR THINGYS!!!

v's are a natural contour of your hips.getting them to show doesnt require a certain ab exercise. you have to get down to a low body fat percentage inorder to see it.

Thats at least I know you can gain them through working out. And yea I know you have to lower fat percentage to see any form of muscle, I'm suprised more people don't know this it is common sense

This

The only thing that's genetic about it is that its more obvious when you much wider hips in comparison to your waist. With men, that shape is more defined by your abdominal muscles, with women, its the difference between your hips and your waist.

And the first pic you showed is touched up, they made her waist way slimmer so that look is more obvious. I wouldn't consider that an honest depiction of what you're looking for
