its an excuse because you dont want to think about the early chances that he squandered in the beginning of the game by getting 3's instead of 6's thats why were were down 24-6

wat about the 2 turnovers he had (one desean was able to get back)

5 had his opportunities but you want to point out that one play where curtis definitely f**ked up, but if 5 was on top of his game at the beginning of the game it would not have come down to that 4th down

Nah i definitely know he didnt play his best ball until late. The d carried us against minny and the giants so i could see how they were tired. With that being said both units could have brought it harder obviously. This arizona team was a team we already f**ked up in the reg season and i think the coaching staff relied on that win as a barometer of this game more so then they should have.

Not to mention westbrook and his paltry 2 yard per carry average in the playoffs last year is swept under the rug conveniently.

I feel your pain though, us as eagles fans just wanna see on thing, and thats to get that lombardi by any means necessary. I really believe that is this year and its only mcnabb who can take us there.

nah homie im not talkin s**t...im just being realistic. no more, no less. and how many suberbowls have vick won? the same as 5. mcnabb is clearly the better player is said it earlier in the thread and ill say it again but eventually people will be callin for vick's name just for the fact that they dont like mcnabb.

Its official kolb gets his first career start :cool-smiley-009:

Report: Kolb getting the start for Eagles
Posted by Tom Curran on September 19, 2009 10:12 PM ET
Andy Reid tried through Friday day to cast a shadow of doubt over who his starting quarterback would be Sunday against the Saints.

Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reports tonight that the doubt can be removed. Kevin Kolb will make his first career start, according to LaCanfora.

McNabb sustained a fractured rib last week in the Eagles season-opening, Delhomme-aided win over the Panthers. His status was officially listed Friday as doubtful.

Newly acquired Jeff Garcia will be Kolb's backup. It remains to be seen whether McNabb will even dress as the team's emergency quarterback.

Last meeting
Philadelphia got 263 passing yards and three touchdowns from Donovan McNabb to defeat New Orleans, 38-23, in Week 16 of the 2007 season.

Streaks
The Eagles have beaten the Saints seven of the last nine times and have a 16-10 overall series edge, including the playoffs.

Last week
Carried by a defense that produced seven takeaways, the Eagles blasted the Panthers, 38-10. ... Drew Brees passed for six touchdowns as the Saints dropped the visiting Lions, 45-27.

Keep your eye on ...
Who lines up under center for the Eagles: The one negative in an otherwise spectacular opener for Philadelphia was that McNabb suffered a cracked rib. His status is undetermined for Sunday and if he is unable to go, backup Kevin Kolb or the recently signed Jeff Garcia could take his place.

Brees' follow-up outing: The Saints Pro Bowl quarterback not only threw six touchdowns in Week 1, but he completed 26 of 34 attempts and finished with 358 yards passing. While those gaudy numbers are astounding, he will find it tough to duplicate them against the Eagles, who were nearly flawless against the pass vs. the Panthers.

Jonathan Vilma's tackling fundamentals: The middle linebacker is considered one of the better players at his position in the league and he had a strong outing for the Saints in Week 1 with four tackles and a sack. He will have to be at his best Sunday as the Eagles figure to use RBs Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy extensively on draws and screens with McNabb hobbling.

Did you know?
Since 2006, Brees has 14,268 passing yards and 94 TDs -- the most in the NFL over that time frame. ... Saints DT Sedrick Ellis has a sack in each of his last two road games. ... When Eagles CB Asante Samuel has an interception, his teams are 21-1. ... The Eagles are 40-1 when Donovan McNabb attempts at least 10 passes and has a 100-plus passer rating.

New Orleans LB Jonathan Vilma vs. Philadelphia RB Brian Westbrook
If Donovan McNabb plays with his broken rib, you can be sure Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams will have some blitzes in store for him. And Williams knows McNabb well from his four years with Washington.

Vilma is the centerpiece of Williams' defense in New Orleans. The Saints traded for him before the '07 season. He has good reactions, moves well in space, and competes hard every down. He had 132 tackles in 16 starts last year. In Week 1 vs. Detroit, Vilma had four tackles and a sack.

No matter who plays QB for Philadelphia, Westbrook is the player that can beat you. Westbrook may be the toughest matchup in the NFL for defenses. He can run inside or outside, is an outstanding receiver (he caught 90 passes in 2007) and will block in pass protection. And he's healthy after sitting out the preseason. Westbrook is very strong with great quickness.
