This s**t is nice, the only weak tracks so far are "Cold outside" and "Broken Safety"
I was expecting straight fire on Broken Safety, I can't believe it turned out so bad :(
You can tell Rae put his time into this album. I shouldn't be prematurely putting out a verdict though. I still have to listen to the rest of the album.
really? if you think those are the worst tracks on Cuban Linx 2 then this album must be amazing for you.
i think those 2 tracks are real good.
I admit Styles P's verse on Broken Safety is kind of choppy recording and mixing wise, but its still legit. I think if it was mixed better it would sound alot better. The beat is real rugged, and has a crazy bridge where the drums change up. I'd say this is the dirtiest beat on the whole album. A big throwback to the 90's boom bap sound... grimey s**t. I prefer this sound to the more polished, clean produced sound.
The eerie, repetitive strings/horns on "Cold Outisde" are a nice throwback to the old Wu sound. But it also pushes the envelope because it has kind of a big orchestra feel. This sounds like a song that can be performed live with a whole orchestra doing the beat. I think its awesome. I swear, listen to that track or instrumental with good headphones and turn it up. If feels like you're surrounded by an orchestra. Listen to the end of the track... u can hear all the instruments break down at the end.... thats a sick a.ss track man
