UFC CAF Career Mode Guide good from PS3 and XBOX360

The goal of this guide is to allow you to create a CAF with the highest possible rating. I don't recommend that you use this guide for your first playthrough, the game isn't that long, and it's more enjoyable to play through on a harder difficulty, not only that but it will make you better at the game. Also, not all of these methods are my own and I do not take credit for everything you see here. Some of this is my own thoughts, some methods are common sense that many will think of or have already noticed simply playing the game.

1) Difficulty: Beginner. You can play on whatever setting you wish, but for the sake of maximizing stats, it would be best to do this on beginner. **Note: You can play on any difficulty for the first three years. I only recommend beginner when it comes time to spar.

2) Starting off, slap on 10 thq logos, this will net you easy cred per f!ght. Try to get 5 training camp sessions done asap from the same location, you will unlock their logo (worth 80 cred). Slap this logo on 10 times to gain an additional 800 cred per f!ght. **See tips on the final post for a better method, a.ssuming you already made a CAF.

3) Your first three years should consist of ONLY training camps, f!ghts, and training. No sparring, no events, and do not agree to f!ght anyone early. If you want time to build up attributes, f!ght the poor ranked f!ghters. If you're good enough to f!ght with low attributes, work towards that belt faster, means more cred for you.

4) You need as much cred as possible, as fast as possible to unlock better training equipment to speed up the process. Try not to lose any f!ghts. You don't have to play on beginner, you are more than welcome to play on a harder difficulty for this process, but definitely switch it to beginner once attributes are capped and you begin sparring.

5) REFER below for the specific breakdown of attribute distributions. It is different for each weightclass and adding it here goes over the post limit. Make sure you look below for this step! Do not skip!!

6) There isn't a multiplier for training, you only need enough stamina to train, so, if you're 1 week away from a f!ght and you have 55 stamina, train an attribute as much as possible! If you go into the f!ght with 3 stamina, and you win quickly and easily, you'll automatically be given 30 stamina when the f!ght ends. Free stamina! Also, choose your equipment unlocks wisely. If you only have 15 more points to go in strength, don't choose the weight bench, get the cardio upgrade.

7) With a little practice, the training camps are easy to do, never do more than 3 training camps per level, you are depriving yourself of a sparring/training session.

8) Once your attributes are at the desired level, it is time to spar! Non stop sparring! Try to setup your schedule so you always spar with 90+ stamina. Never spar with under 70% stamina, it's just a waste. You will most likely be ready to spar at the start of the fourth year, which means you have 4 years of sparring to do! Let's be realistic, this part is boring. This is the core of building your CAF though, no slacking here! This will ultimately reflect your overall rating and CAF skills. ***Please see below for a more detailed strategy!

9) As said, sparring is the core of this. Once you have your level 5 partner, try to get 100+ skill points per session. Once you get better at sparring this shouldn't be a difficult task (make sure you pick your opponents wisely to reflect the sparring partners skill!). If you want to get higher than a 105, you'll need to get many 144 skill point sessions. You are able to exit to the dashboard and reload if you do awful. If you aren't anal about making the absolute best CAF, it wont hurt to take a few sparring sessions where you do poor.

Recap: Max your strength, speed, and cardio first. Don't lose f!ghts, you need the cred. Work on the training camps and once stats are capped, non stop sparring!

Weightclass Attribute Distributions:

Note: Once an attribute hits 75, any further points will reduce the other attributes. For example, a heavyweight f!ghter caps at 100 strength, 80 speed, 80 cardio. So, if you have 100 strength, 75 speed, and 75 cardio, if you train cardio again, you will lower your strength. Now if you train strength to raise it back up, you will lower both speed and cardio. For this reason you cannot completely max stats, you will have to settle for a 4-10 point loss somewhere. It is possible to get nearly maxed stats, but it requires WEEKS of training the right attributes back and forth, and in my opinion is not worth the time spent. For the heavyweight example, 100, 75, 75 results in being 10 points short. However, 95 str, 80 speed, 80 cardio is only a 5 point shortage. Ultimately, how you choose your final attributes is up to you.

Heavyweight: (max: 100 str, 80 speed, 80 cardio).
Starting stats: 30 strength, 1 speed, 29 cardio. Only increase strength until it reaches 100. By this point, speed will remain 1, and cardio will be reduced in the ballpark region of 5 points. On beginner, with 100 strength, you will destroy the computer, do not let the 1 speed and 5 cardio worry you. With 100 strength, begin increasing cardio and speed until they are at 75. From here it is up to you what your final attribute setup is.

Light Heavy: (max: 95 str, 85 speed, 85 cardio)
Starting stats: 30 strength, 1 speed, 29 cardio and do the same process as heavyweight. This one is a bit more tricky as you have an additional 5 points to put into speed and cardio this time around, which will lower your strength a bit more. You'll have to spend an extra few weeks of balancing them out. Remember, don't aim for max stats, just get them close to max.

Middleweight: (max: 90 strength, 90 speed, 90 cardio)
This is a tricky one. I haven't made a middleweight yet, I would a.ssume the best strategy is to make starting stats 1 strength, 29 speed, 30 cardio. From there, cap speed and cardio, then strength last. You'll have to balance things out more here than any other weight class. Also, with 1 strength, f!ght smart until strength is high enough. f!ght for submissions, go for decisions, do not try to knock people out.

Welterweight: (max: 85 Strength, 95 speed, 95 cardio)
Starting stats: 1 strength, 29 speed, 30 cardio. Max speed and cardio first, then increase strength up. Do not try to knockout f!ghters until strength is high enough, go for submissions and decision wins. Remember, you don't start sparring until stats are maxed, so just focus on training/beating the computer.

Lightweight: (max: 80 Strength, 100 speed, 100 cardio)
Starting stats: 1 strength, 29 speed, 30 cardio. Max speed and cardio first, then increase strength up. Do not try to knockout f!ghters until strength is high enough, go for submissions and decision wins. Remember, you don't start sparring until stats are maxed, so just focus on training/beating the computer.

Sparring:

Ok, so sparring is the core of this guide. You get points for every action you do and the computer gets points for his actions. You need a 200 point difference to receieve 100 skill points with a level 5 partner. You need a 400 point difference to receieve 144 points with a level 5 sparring partner (both of these numbers are a.ssuming you have 90%+ stamina, and you should!). Your CAF's skills are all low, 30 is the highest, but worry not, with maxed attributes and beginner difficulty this won't be bad at all. The following are a few methods for sparring:

- Strike standing, once you rock them, knock them down, when the opponent is on the ground waiting to be TKO'd, DO NOT immediately pounce on them and finish. Wait until the screen is almost about to go back to full color, then jump on top of them, now you should "re-rock" them, and gain an additional 50 points before knocking them out. You can also "re-rock" them and immediately get off of them, let them get back up, and now you'll have a much easier time rocking them again, and possibly repeating this pattern.

- If you're great with submissions, you can aim to submit the sparring partner as much as possible.

- You also do not have to KO or submit them, you can rack up points just by landing a large amount of strikes. Find a pattern that works for you and keep at it.

Tips:

Sparring partner behavior: Thanks to shnangyboos
Your sparring partner will act based on the two styles of the opponent you chose to f!ght. If you choose to f!ght someone with wrestling as one of their styles, the sparring partner will shoot on you fairly often. If you prefer to stand and try to knock out the sparring partner, avoid f!ghting anyone with wrestling as their style.

Cred and Logos: Thanks to Silky_S101
If you previously made a CAF that has already unlocked a training camp logo (80 cred), you can load those trunks onto your newly made CAF (granting 800 cred from the beginning, rather than 350 for the thq logos). By Silky's own words "Start a new career and choose "copy f!ghter data" an select the CAF you previously created. Notice he will be wearing the shorts you created allowing you to start your career with them earning you an extra 800 creds a f!ght.

Skill point allocations:
You get a 15% bonus for major stats for your style (if you finish training camps) and a 10% bonus for the weaker stats related to your styles. Use these bonuses when distributing points! Do not neglect these!

My advice is just to drag out f!ghts as long as possible then counter them into a sub.

not really, though I suggest leveling up what you're strengths are first... ie if you're a wrestler then you wanna up your take down offense and defense and your ground and pound skills... if you're a BJJ you wanna up your submissions and ground transitions ect
