I'm 140 and I've been doing calastetiks and lifting weight here and there.. my friend told me I have to pig out on junk food in between meals and that's how I gain weight.. any suggestions ??

Calorie surplus=gaining weight.

You can go and do 1,000 pullups/dips and wont gain a lb if you arent taking in more calories than you are burning.

naturally you will gain a lil wait from the muscle you put on , a.ssuming your not fat.. cause then you will burn more like other poster said.. but yea just find some healthy foods that add wait.. you dont want too many calories cause then it will be a health risk if just upping the dosage.. look for some protein foods... baked chicken.. nuts(no homo) 100%beef products if you eat...etc....

I'm 19, 6'2 140 lbs. I lift about 3 times a week, I do basic dumbbell curls, and other workout's on my biceps, triceps, forearms, I wanna work on my chest and shoulders but I need proper equipment unless you know any calastetiks that'll help ... I have free weights and a short barbell I use to do workouts with

also I'm not fat I'm really thin, but lately with the push ups I've been doing and protein shakes my arms aren't as thin and scrawny like before

Damn kinfolk, you anorexic as hell. I would concentrate on just eating at the moment. Body weight exercises like you named is alright, but you gotta lift heavy to add muscle. Go to meijer and buy 2 bags of chicken brea$t a week...

The push ups and barbell exercises are okay but if you are really serious about this then you need to join a gym. The workouts you described there are single joint movement exercises, you need to do multi-joint exercises(ex. bench press, squats, dead lifts).

Listen to hbk83 and remember like previously stated eat more calories than you burn.

If you work hard you won't have a problem putting on the lbs. In hs every year i put on 10+ lbs, and I did the same this past fall. Just stay dedicated and you'll be good.

Comb through this section of the forum, a lot of knowledgeable people in here.

i remember when i was stuck at 150 thru college, my metabo is ridiculous. i finally started gaining weight when i started working security at a casino and had an all u can eat breakfast every morning. usually didnt eat lunch, and jus did whatever for dinner.

eata big breakfast and 6-8 small meals a day. get some protein powder. if you do dat and work out hard you should gain mass in.

Um, no. if you pig out on junk food, you'll just be fat and weak. You have to eat properly, low fat meals, with high protein and good carbs.

Doing curls and bench wont make you big either. Your biggest muscles are your legs, back and then chest.

Your really ignorant bro. Don't throw that word "anorexic" around unless you know what it means. Some people are just really skinny.

I was 113lb and 6'0 at one point. It wasn't some anorexia. It was other factors that I couldn't eat. Please look up the term. (Ps.. now I am a healthy weight and still climbing.)
