Nas Brings AZ, Others To Rock The Bells
July 13th, 2009 | Author: Sean Ryon

Sunday night at the Washington D.C. leg of the Rock the Bells tour, headlining act Damian Marley was unable to perform with collaborator Nas for the concert's final performance. Not to disappoint fans, Nas called in a special guest performance with frequent collaborator and fellow member of the now-disbanded Firm, AZ. The two emcees performed a number of songs together, including "Life's a b****" from Nas' debut album Illmatic and "Affirmative Action" from It Was Written.

Following AZ's performance, D-Block rapper Styles P and former Organized Konfusion emcee Pharoahe Monch came out for a surprise performance, at which point Nas left the stage. Styles performed first, doing hits like "Good Times" and "Blow Ya Mind," while Pharoahe followed up with a few songs as well, including "Simon Says" and he and Styles' collaboration "My Life." After their performance, Nas returned to the stage and finished his set with solo material.

Which is better in your opinion

the pit vs. the lawn? I'm trying to decide which to buy, for those who went this year.

Also , where my LA heads that's goin I'm bout to be in that b**ch like a marley :rasta:
I dont know how your stage is set up but our lawn was wayyy in the back.. the pit looked crazy...

I was 300 level but It was still fun....

and as for the lineup... ours was crazy.. most people rocked the show... big boi had more energy than I thought and people were outta the seats...

and if you have tech n9ne u really should go.. I never heard his music before but he really rocked it... best stage preformance I ever seen

I went to the one in Boston and I caught myself at the pit most of the time.
The pit had Rza,MOP,Slaughterhouse,Buckshot,Raekwon,Slum village, alchemist and Evidence and some others.

The main had Common,Roots,Big Boi,Talib & hi-tek and Nas and D marley. It might be different for different locations tho.
You can go to and go to "set times" to see which artist is on what stage

i had a chance to go (free ticket but out on the lawn on Aug. 9th) but I passed on it because my mom's been in the hospital and i'm going back to school in two weeks. Was it cool this year??? wish we had Cube, Def, Cypress Hill, K'naan, and EPMD up here. Regardless Nas, Common, The Roots, Big Boi, Busta, KRS-One, Tech N9ne, 2/9th of Wu Tang, Slaughterhouse, Slum Village, Evidence & Alch, The Knux, Mickey Factz, MURS, Pete Rock, etc. should hold it down in the Bay.
