anyone play NHL10 yet? how is it
It's great. Of course it's going to depend on what type of gamer you are, but if you follow Hockey and have any knowledge of it whatsoever, you'll appreciate the changes they made. The only gripe I have is getting pinned against the boards almost uncontrollably. They slowed down the speed of the game and made it more difficult for you to pass and score. Of course you can adjust the sliders to your personal preferences. They also seem to have updates for default sliders, which is cool.
There's a lot to get out of this game. Playing by yourself is fun, whether it's quick play, franchise mode, battle of the cup and so on. You can also play with 1 or 3 of your friends locally or against other people on xbox live. I personally like doing shootouts on xbox live. The only problem I've had with NHL on XBL over the years is the lag you can experience. It's just enough to throw off your normal tempo. But not bad enough that you can't adjust to it over time.
If you want to really analyze it, are there enough improvements from NHL 09 to NHL 10 to justify spending $60 on it? Not necessarily, but if you're any sort of a of a Hockey fan and you play sports games on a normal basis, it's definitely worth that money.
Bottom line, unless you have any reasons NOT to get NHL 10, go ahead and get it.
