"Dog, that 8 out of 17 tracks you like. You name me an album that has come out in let's just say the last 10 years, that has 8 dope tracks on it."

Lowkey - Dear Listener ... Has more than 8 dope tracks, and is only 13 tracks deep... It dropped last MONTH

It's hilarious how stupid you guys are. Half the CDs i own have more than 8 dope tracks.

I didn't name any bands. Did i?

And where have i said anything about Pac? How is 2Pac relevant?

I prefer 2pac to Biggie. Because as you've mentioned, 2pac atleast at times had something of worth to say. Something with meaning and value.

But he's irrelivent to this thread. And he's also over rated.
I said that because you said that every rapper have great lyrical ability but have no meaning in their songs. Pac had great lyrical ability and meaning

Southern Cali... and its not like I have anything against NY music... I luv Illmatic, and It Was Written By Nas... its just biggie's music isn't that good imo

So, I don't know sh*t about hip hop because I don't just blindly say biggie is one of the greatest??? (Which he clearly isn't) Sooo many rappers are just plain better than BIG

Let me guess, ur fav biggie track is big poppa which proves your some sort of super pimp right??? Or maybe ur fav track is machine gun funk, hmmm that must prove that u are some sort of super thug right??? ur an idiot so I won't even bother with the rest of ur post...

lol, this isn't a who's better pac or big thread.... u gusy started that but since we're onthe subject.... No.... I'd go as far as sayin pac having way more quotables than biggie...

I don't mean witty lines like biggie's that people won't even remember 20 years from now...

I'm talking about lines like

"No Malcolm X in my history text, why's that?
Cuz he tried to liberate, and educate all blacks

Why is Martin Luther King in my book each week?
he told blacks if they get smacked, turn the other cheek"

That's a fu*king quotable!... not only did it take thought to write down, but its something that will make the listener think about it on his own.. like it did me.... and that was just off his first album....

Let me quote some more off of memory

"and think, I'm old enough to go to war, but not old enough to drink" (Not the exact quote, I haven't heard the song in a while but the song is Po n*gga Blues)

"Why do ghetto birds die before we learn to fly"

There are so many more but forget it...

and uhhhhh, biggie for sure ain't the best story teller ever.... both pac and technique beat him in that category...
first off most the sh*t you quoted from Pac he quoted from Shakespeare

Just because Tupac mentioned Malcom X in his rhymes doesn’t mean that they are quotable or deep or even right. because if you talk to anyone who walk the walk and talk the talk. Malcolm X catered to blacks but taught EVERY RACE, Tupac made him seem like a racist man when all Malcolm was trying to point out are the repirations we need from whites.. check ya fact. So yea to the average dummy you would listen to him and be like” that n*gga deep. As a child though I was litening to him like what the fu*k is he talking about.

I never saw Biggie in spandex, his upbring was just as it was, an UPBRINGING as a child you have no control over that, Pac was a grown a.ss man with spandex on and a jerry curl and then dressed like he fresh from a muslim camp with Digital Underground the next minute. I have the pics to prove it all. So again I say he was an hypocrite. He never really knew who he wanted to be.

And the fact that Biggie was ugly, and fat made Pac think he would easily crush Biggie. (No)
2albums deep compared to Pacs entire discography and who does people compare Pac 2? For that reason is why Pac hated Big so much all Big needed was the mic and Pac used antics.

Pac
Why is Martin Luther King in my book each week?
he told blacks if they get smacked, turn the other cheek"

^^ one of the many dumb things he has said to later find that Malcolm agreed with Martins theory and they later became friends.

How is age relevant? Good music is good music. It knows no age.

I listen to ALOT of old rock music. I respect and listen to alot of the old greats within that genre.

The difference is rap music has and always will be followed for the most part by complete and utter fu*king imbeciles.

And as such guys like BIG are viewed so much higher than they should be.

Your analogy is null and void.

90% of kids who listen to rap list to BIG still. It's the real hip hop heads, young and old who recognise the man as being over rated, and his lyrics mainly meaningless dribble.

Please post up some of the lyrics to his better tracks. Straight up i can find lyrics to thousands of songs that DESTROY his lyrics.

The fu*k do i care if you're a gangster and you have bi*ches. Is this music?

You a crack baby or what.
This f*cken guy again...Age is so revelant, beacuse because in HIP HOP the era is important. Your not gonna get the same out of Ready To Die listening to it for the first time last week, as oppsed to when it first came out. I come from an era when albums came out, you could bump them for months non-stop without having to fast forward or stop. When has an album like that came out within the last ten or 15 years.

You obivously don't know hip hop, so your comments mean nothing...

Easy on the crack baby talks, I actually come from a very good family. Your intellegence is once again thrown down the gutter with trying to dis someone you know nothing about...

Who the f*ck is lowkey?

I come from the "Golden Era" of hip hop, where REAL hip hop music came from. I come from the era of EPMD, BIG, Wu-Tang, Redman, Rakim, 2Pac, MC Eiht, NWA, Ice Cube, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Boot Camp, Das Efx, Naughty By Nature, Slick Rick, KRS-one...

This is what I consider classic hip hop material. Everyone has their opinons, but I know a lot of people that would agree with me, and most of them are about my age, and from my generation.

8 ut of 17 I know...... I'm not the type thats into Lil Wayne and Souljah Boy or even T.I I can't stand all this new hip hop so I wouldn't be able to mention recent albums with 8 good tracks on'em

The rappers I do like and have consistently good albums in the last ten years are DMX, Immortal technique, Common.... The Eminem Show (Eveyr song on that album is pretty good and listenable... yes, EVEN HAILIE's SONG lol

Don't bother with DMX's last 2 albums though... Grand Champ had some good tracks here and there but Year Of The Dog Again was just a fu*king disappointment...

:applause:
I hear you. You are intitled to your opinion, and I'll agree with you that Common's BE was a classic. Every track on that is bangin'. You got to understand, that grew up listening to BIG, and to me he's the GOAT, so when i see posts like this one, i get really hyped...nahmeen?

Age is relevant if you're a moron. Or old and have absolutely nothing in terms of evidence to support your unfounded and moronic claims; And resort to ridiculous cop outs to help your failing argument.

Because i was around when 50 cent came through. Is my opinion more valid on him than someone who started listening to him last year, regardless of him having heard all the material i've heard?

Like i said, if you could read, i wasn't around for hundreds of amazing musicians... Yet i have no problem recognising their skills and brilliant music.

So what, it's just Hip Hop where you had to have been around to give a valid opinion? Basically all i'm hearing from you is some bandwagon hype cop out.

"You weren't there man, you weren't there"

The fu*k cares if i wasn't there. Apart from idiotic stans trying to defend their stupid views.

Please. Lyrics are lyrics. Good music is fu*king good music. It knows no fu*king concept of time. A good artist 50 years ago is a good artist today. An over rated artist from over 10 years ago is an over rated artist today, whether he was rated back then is irrelivent.

In 10 years time. If i was hyping up Solja boy or Lil Wayne to some youth, and he felt they were over rated and not as good as i was claiming... Does me making a claim about them not being there when they came up have absolutely any fu*king relevance at all... Does it? I don't think it does.

The bottom line is Biggie is one of the most over rated Hip Hop artists in history. Whether i was around when he came through has no relevance to this fact, at all. I'd still view him in the same light. Because unlike you, i don't ride bandwagons. I have taste. I'm not an immature bordering on retarded bandwagon riding homo, like yourself.

Get it? Good.

I'm still waiting on these glorious awe worthy lyrics that have somehow decayed over the course of time. LMAO

Lowkey is an underground Hip Hop artist from London. Someone who you wouldn't know because you don't follow Hip Hop.

And some of the guys you're listing are good. It's just a shame you're a moron still.

The problem with this golden age you talk of. Is that it means nothing in terms of your taste or ear for good music. Because back then alot of mainstream artists had talent. So it's not like you have an ear for it, you've just been spoon fed it by the media.

If Young Jeezy was hot back then you'd hype him too.

All these artists you're naming. Alot are still going, and there's a hell of alot more about in this day and age.

Look no further than the underground scene... But i'm sure to you good real hip hop music is backpacking geek sh*t, right?

Who the f*ck are you to say whose right or wrong. Like I told the threrad starter he is intitled to his opinion, and what I've said is my opinion. This isn't about whose right or wrong. What are you gonna tell me now that I'm not intitled to my opinion? Why don't we set up a poll to see who thinks BIG is overated or not.
