I didnt know people were buying Blu rays like that yet.....I was gonna get my girl to get me on for christmas...then I looked at my stack of movies....and thought about rebuying them...was like nah They can wait a lil longer. Is looking at a Blu ray the same as watchin an HD movie of of TV? I have seen them in Best buy, but I know they rig those tvs lol. As of now the movies are too expensive....I saw Iron man and the Hulk on sale Blu ray for $50....wtf...that aint a sale....thats a robbery.
Not quite the same as watching HD movies through cable. Cable doesnt have 1080p, at least not yet. I think the satellite companies have started to or will soon start broadcasting in 1080p. Also Best Buy doesn't "rig their TVs", most of their TVs in there are on the same 720p feed. Some of them have Blu Ray players playing and some of them are calibrated but you can get your TV to look like that too.

um blu ray does not play your regular dvds in HD. They are compatable yes..but do not get confused. i think casino royale and apocolypto look very good in blu ray.
Yes, it does. It upconverts them. It's not Blu-ray quality, but it's a big improvement over a standard DVD player.

What the hell are you talking about??? You don't have to rebuy anything you don't wanna because it plays your old movies in HD. And I know damn well you didn't see sh*t "on sale" for $50. I just saw Iron Man on Blu-ray at Costco for $18.

Anyways, yeah, people are stacking them joints. I got a bunch myself.

What im saying is I saw a Iron man/Hulk Bundle bundle on sale for $50...U aint gotta believe me....I asw it in the best buy periodicals. If u saw it for $15 good for you. But u cant sit here and say thatBlu Rays are just as cheap right now. And if it plays old movies in HD in the best quality, that would defeat the whole purpose of a blu rays. For movie collectors like me, I want my favorite movies to be the highest quality. Im not gonna cop a Blu ray player, and have movies like 300, Terminator 2, Bad Boys, and other classics sit there....Ima re cop the new Blu ray versions once they come out. Thats what I mean when I say ima wait on em, till everything is cheaper. Blu ray is expensive for no reason right now...like CD's back when they used to be 18.99....Why would I pay for something I can dam near get 4 free? I copped all of the Godfathers for a even $20...want it on Blu ray? thats $150 for the collection

On sale the first week right? They normally about $25 each for new movies. And the special editions are bout $35.....thats a huge difference...and in the end...its really not worth it. I was mad I bought Dark Knight special edition on DVD cuz the features was runnin thin..I figured they must have put everything on a blu ray...but to my surprised they didnt even do that..Why is it that if Blu rays hold so much more space than other discs, they still have double disc special editions....Its hold 50x the amount of a DVD, but both are 2 discs?

Probably cause they try fittin the main movie on there with as much uncompressed data as possible for true HD picture & Audio then whatever left for features, then continue features on 2nd disc I figure that much...

I used to say the same thing to myself

You def arent getting the full affect if you arent playing it through an actual Blu-Ray player with HDMI. Are you looking for a stand alone Blu-Ray Player or just a PS3?

i was thinking might as well go with ps3. i mean there $400 , you could pretty much say $200 for the bluray and $200 for the game, thats the way im looking at it. I wont be able to get one until after the first of the year when i get back to work. I cant wait though!
