boston fans trip me up... if you had money to spend, and star players available on the market, what would u do??? give it to charity? don't be a fool.... manny05 is the only boston fan on BXSC w/ half a brain

and don't act like boston doesn't spend money either. they do have the 2nd highest payroll in the league

im just tired of yall acting like ny isnt the place for
players to go and slack off....

you think the over 22M/year your offereing to cc sabathia
and he comes out and has another 1-6 start
no gurantee he will do what he did last season....
then your stuck with him....
yankee fans are gonna still be talking sh*t

or nick swisher coming out and not and not averaging the 20HR he does
still talking sh*t...

no matter what it takes away from the love of the game...
most teams wouldnt pay that much for players. because of risk factors etc...
thats why it is a farm system... and also why the yankees are usually the
top runners with over 100M contracts...

Only poeple from New York say that so they don't feel so bad about their pathetic teams.

Celtics made trades and had to deal with a salary cap.

Go Knickerbockers though :applause:
Its funny u should say that when all ny teams have won more championships than Boston...and that's a fact

thats bullsh*t statement. going thru years of painful rebuilding to accumulate the young pieces to trade for a player like garnett, is far from pitching an offer of an obscene amount of money for a player.
Yankees went through the 80's and very early 90's barely winning games to get to the spot they have gotten to. know your history

More like how much are you gonna offer for Tex? I got a 1st baseman and a pretty good one @ 3mill a year .312/29hr/Gold Glove .
i guess your a bandwagon sox fan since you dont know theres talks of dumping lowell, moving that f*g**t youkilis to 3rd and signing texiera. or keeping both and still signing texiera

For the record Boston did draft Schilling, but I see what point you're making.

and ther'es a sifference between a $130 million payroll versus a payroll that's going to be $220 million+

Yankees just going out there throwing around $20 million per year deals just so other teams don't even bother bidding.
well, i see your point..but im pretty sure yankees aren't just throwing money around for the hell of it..they got lots of it, that's for sure..but they;re doing it so that they can commit to obtaining a player.
sure they've invested ALOT of money on ALOT of players, but think of it this way.
The yankees just bid higher than any team would. its that simple you know.
its like going to an auction and buying a car 1 penny more than your next competitor, just so you can buy the car...

just like the yankees are doing now..except...they're overbidding lol..i mean 140 for a pitcher? insane..but hey..that shows their commitment to reinstating their "dynasty" back into baseball.

Some of you guys on boxden are so biased...

Imma keep it real, If my organization had tha same amount of money as tha Yankees, I admit, we'd be buyin championships also, I mean why not? We got tha money.
Only problem with that is that yankess have been trying to buy championships and havent done sh*t in awhile.

And for those that keep sayin the Red Sox buy championships, thats not true @ all Half of our starters are prospects we drafted...our payroll used to be so high becuz of players like Manny and Curt Schilling. Last time I checked, they're both gone...

and if you wanna get technical take away varitek, giambi, mussina, pudge, and abreu and 10-7 sox

Yankees payroll is only so high because they keep their own guys, (jeter, cano, posada, rivera etc) to the point where their good enough to get those big contracts

wow you better really name all the stars that we bought into the team =/
cuz i dont see the red sox doing anything like the yankees =/
like i said before most of our key players are from the farm.
only player we brought in for alot of money was daisuke and that was only because of the bidding process.. and JD drew.

Then the Yankees would have gotten Santana or gone after Cabrera.

There is also a big difference in Boston and Minnesota and Pittsburgh. Next year Boston's salaries will be higher, because salaries keep going up. It's not the Yankees that signed Santana or Zito. They also didn't give ARod his original contract.

Don't bring Arod into the conversation, they might not have given him his original deal, but they sure did make it higher that's for sure.

The Yankees are far and away the highest paid team in the league and the Red Sox aren't even top 3 according to epsn.com
