I respect your opinion, but seeing how you only put 3 tracks in the "eeeehhh" catagory, this shiit is way above average. Granted Nas' fans(me included) can over exaggerate shiit, but dude is on his shiit again. n*gga gave the game something to think about other than saying hip hop is dead. n*gga said that shiit, & showed how to bring life to hip hop again. Then when you factor in how much bullshiit is out today, it stands out more. But again, it's all opinion anyway. Just glad somebody still knows how to move the audience without watering down their material.
Like I said, it is an above average album. Just not "way" above average.

But the great songs are definitely great. I just don't think it's perfect front-to-back like so many here are saying. Remember, people were saying the same thing about Hip-Hop Is Dead when it dropped.

Everybody has hyped this album up so much, I went into it expecting some legendary record. I should've known better than to listen to all the hype.

It's a good album with a smooth, relaxed vibe the whole way through and he definitely has some amazing verses, but in the end the album suffers from what so many of Nas' priors suffered from: filler in the form of some aimless songs and bland production. I'd say it's another solid 4 mic album, but it's not revolutionary and it's not a classic record, IMHO.

The great:
Hero
America
Sly Fox
N.I.G.G.E.R.
Fried Chicken
We're Not Alone
Black President

The good:
Queens Get The Money
You Can't Stop Us Now
Louis Farrakhan
Project Roach
Testify (Although his flow is LAZY on this track)

The eeeeh:
Y'all My n*ggas (not the lyricism, the beat which is some Gods Son reject sh*t)
Breathe (Nas rappin about his ice over another God's Son reject beat)
Make The World Go Round (doesn't fit into this album's vibe AT ALL)

And the fact Be A zzzzzz Too was left off is unacceptable.

Good album, but not great. A little better than Hip-Hop Is Dead, but no Illmatic or It Was Written. I'd say it's about equal to Stillmatic. Of course, this is just my opinion, and it would be nearly impossible to live up to the hype, but it's certainly not a perfect album and I don't think people should be treating it as such.
leaving louis farrakhan on your 'good list' makes me question your whole post.

are you REALLY playing this joint?? this track is so fu*king cold it gives me chills damn. just picking that 1 example. to each's own tho i guess.

exellent album. well put together just about every track is relevent, no 1 track jumps out at you more than tha next but to be honest i dont think there is any filler. production is nice and lyrics/subject matter and flow are nearly perfect. good work nasty nas

note: nas & game have a nice lil chemistry goin they do nice work together, i kno sum peeps say tha album could of done without him but he ripped it. sayin he didnt would be sorta haterish.

ive just been laughing at the people talking this album down. :D

i honestly didnt think anybody would top "Rising Down" but nas went above and beyond with zzzzzz. ive always wanted Nas to just make an album where he made the type of songs he wanted to make and not have to make shi*ty songs to sell records that would ruin the album. and he did.

the sad thing is that we will never hear longevity like this from anyone else b/c instead of producing artists, like Nas, record labels are just making one hit wonders. this is what is really k!lling hip-hop at the moment.

kinda bland?

i love nas.
and im happy to see everyone on his side with this one.
but where is those rugged beats?
the lyrics, i cant doubt.

but as far as putting songs together he still dont hit the nail on the head.
the isnt a 'sound' to this album like Illmatic had a sound, Blueprint had a sound.

can someone fill me in.
maybe its gone over my head.
cuz i wanna love it like evry1 else!
