Dolphins officially signed DB and special teams ace Nathan Jones from the Dallas Cowboys.

[pic - click to view]

If Travis Daniels moves to safety Jones will likely compete for the #3 position on the depth chart for CB.

if they are gonna put daniels at safety they might as well cut him cuz he will have no value at all to us there. he isnt a good enough tackler and allen and hill are way better then him

he handled kick offs when Feely struggled I believe a couple games last season.

After Feely kicked his 2nd kick off out of bounds they put in Fields for a try.

He was just as bad...

It's a good thing Feely was solid on place kicking.

Dolphins signed WR/KR Tab Perry

[pic - click to view]

Perry will likely take over punt return duties to take some pressure off of Ted Ginn Jr. He will also compete with Derek Hagan, Greg Camarillo & Kerry Reed for the team's #3 and #4 WR slot position.

the only game towards the end of the season that i didnt watch was the bengals game. thats the only possibility of fields kicking that i can remember because im seriously trying hard to remember him kicking off. i do however remember feely fu*king up in the ravens game at the end .

its fu*king rediculous... all we are doing is signing special teams people. we're the miami cowboys featuring the special teams all stars.... watch us still have every kick return for a TD get called back for penalties while john beck chokes in the pocket and our defense gets burned :banghead:

If any of the QB's on our roster start the 2008 season it will be a huge dissapointment. Bring back Cleo Lemon! Just kiddin but seriously I look for Miami to trade the #1 pick becuase we really dont need a DE with Roth and Taylor I think we are set. Bottome line is we keep getting defense and special teams and that was not the problem last year. I was excited with Parcells coming on but this is gettin ridiculous we need offense we OL, WR, and a good TE. If not that then we need at least a good corner and not just soem random no one has heard of.

Maybe on draft day we trade for Lito Shepard? Other than thats really the last big name corner out there.

you dont need to sign big names to b competitive. miami can still build through the draft (and i dont mean jus the first round) and some under-the-radar free agents. i'll give u a good example: last yr, the giants signed 1 FA (kawika mitchel).

big names cannot help the dolphins at this point unless they're some high caliber (Chad Johnson, Anquan Boldin) and even then you'd need more than just 1 to make an impact

No offense (and this is simply Miami Dolphin discussion I'm about to engage in to) however your posts on this team are beyond incorrect.
I'm not even sure you watch Miami Dolphin football games.

You said Matt Roth and Jason Taylor is perfect so we don't need to address the defensive line. Matt Roth was expected to have a breakout year however he only emerged with an average 35 tackles and 3 sacks. He was horrible against the run and for being a QB sack specialist in college, he only hurried the QB 7 times for only 3 sacks. He also only started 9 games last season dealing with nagging injuries. He didn't prove anything and with Jason Taylor's age, addressing the defensive line with depth/future talent is a necessity.

You also said our offensive line was a problem last season. Samson Satele (our rookie center) had an All-Pro year and the right side of the line improved dramatically. Vernon Carey showed promise at times at the LT position however I still feel he should be moved to RT and we need to address LT and LG immediately through the draft.

We invested into John Beck at #2 and he didn't even start a whole season and got throw into a 1-15 season as our QB and you are already dodging him starting next season. You clearly don't understand QB/franchise politics.

Then you said special teams was not a problem last year... i really laughed at that statement.

Do you have any idea how many special teams penalties we had last season. Not to mention we had 2 or 3 kickoff return TD's called back for holding. Special teams was a disaster last season, and now that Ted Ginn is the team's go to deep threat at WR, we needed to take some weight off his shoulders. He will continue to be our team's starting KR, but Tab Perry is a great addition to the team for competition and to be the team's punt returner.

With special teams additions comes necessary depth at positions. We also signed players who are versatile and can address a weak secondary i.e. Nathan Jones, Joey Thomas, Keith Davis etc.

The NFL is not John Madden football for your game console at home. It's a business that requires longevity and youth just as much as talent and public popularity.

Yes signing someone as Lito Sheppard, Chad Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and people like that is great and all. The public would love it, and it certainly does add a key factor to their position for the team. However those names come with high expectations, large salary cap casualties, and less opportunity to sign players who will contribute more then just a couple years before they run their mouth to the media about how they want a trade and how they want out.

Marinate on that.

Sorry you guys dont agree with my opinions but I do watch every Dolphin game that is on and also DVR them. I am a 100% dedicated fan from being at Marino's Hall of Fame induction to paying 265 dollars a year on Sunday ticket for the last 4 years and wondering why at the end of the year.

Im not here for shock post either.

My opinions might be off the wall sometimes but the fact is, is the Dolphins have not been to the Super Bowl since 84 and have only came close maybe once or twice.

Im sick and tired of waiting for the Super Bowl and I think we need some serious changes we need a different offensive gameplan. The whole running thing ever since Jimmy Johnson has not worked and will continue to fail even with Ricky, Ronnie, and Lorenzo. I think these 3 are great running backs but none of them are hall of fame type calibur. None of them have been a leader on this team and none of them have led us to a super bowl or even close so stop with Ronnie Brown is the greatest RB in Miami history.

I am just like yall and I want a Super Bowl and to be greedy I want it now and what we have been doing the last 6-7 years will not get us even close to it.

So with that said that is why I am saying bring in a big name player such as Ocho Cinco and stop boring the fans to death with wastefull draft picks. We all saw the stat last year being that only 1 or 2 draft picks since 2003 are still on the team.

Call my opinions crazy but last time I checked we need help and whole hell of alot.

I also agree Special teams was an issue considering 2 punt returns and 1 kick return was called back but I was just saying that Offense should be the number one priority.

ricky led the league in rushing, he was also the first to have over 200+rushing yards in consecutive games...as a dolphin...ronnie brown was on pace to break all purpose yards last year...what r u talkin about??

i agree & i would love to get 85, but hey it is what it is
