this thread is for all things OC related. from the american mob to BMF and everything in between.........

in light of the sammy the bull thread doing ok numbers and the multiple times Michael Franzese has been brought up in the last few days I think its time to maybe revive the OC thread for those of us that have an interest in this sh*t.........

DISCUSSIONS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOT TO INVOLVE CURRENT EVENTS OR PEOPLE THAT HAVENT BEEN COVERED PUBLICLY.
@big score [MENTION=251156]t from the 617 @Smuggz @OGMiamishank @Shika @Willy Boban
@IllClinton

Im going to get this started with a couple docs on the Detroit partnership by two of the most annoying people that do this sh*t.........but they're really good docs regardless information wise..........

I may have some questions if I can think of any or of anything interesting comes up itt. I've always been intrigued in the mob and their politics. Even certain mobsters of the past interest me and the people who lurk in the shadows or thrive in the spotlight (Hoffa).

I hope this turns out to be a good thread, because OP knows his sh*t. Makes me wanna watch Boardwalk Empire again. I want to see a film behind the eyes of the italian jew, Meyer Lansky.

That was a cold mufugga mayne, no pun.
But like breh said in the Sammy thread, a "Mad Sam" Destefano movie would be far more gruesome and deranged than Kuklinski's story.
Tony "The Ant" Spilotro, Pesci's character in Casino would make a great movie and translate better to the big screen.
And of course, Giancaca. People need to know more about dude. He played a major role in some huge events in US history.

The Bonnano Family

The Bonanno crime family (pronounced [boˈnanno]) is one of the Five Families that dominate organized crime activities in New York City, United States, within the nationwide criminal phenomenon known as the American Mafia (or Cosa Nostra).

Named after Joseph Bonanno, for over 30 years the family was one of the most powerful in the country. However, in the early 1960s, Bonanno attempted to seize the mantle of boss of bosses, but failed and was forced to retire. This touched off a period of turmoil within the family that lasted almost a quarter-century. It was the first of the New York families to be kicked off the Commission (a council of the bosses that helps to maintain order in the Mafia), due to inf*ghting for the boss's mantle, as well as allegations the family was actively dealing heroin and that an FBI agent calling himself Donnie Brasco had infiltrated their ranks. Later, the family faced shaky leadership, with the acting boss Carmine Galante murdered in 1979 at the command of Philip Rastelli, the actual boss. The family only recovered in the 1990s under Joseph Massino, and by the dawn of the new millennium was not only back on the Commission, but also was the most powerful family in New York. However, in the early 2000s, a rash of convictions and defections culminated in Massino himself becoming a government informant in 2004. Early on the Bonnano's made the Williamsburg/Bushwick section of Brooklyn their stronghold.

Sal Vitale (Former Underboss)

Anthony Spero - Anthony "Old Man" Spero (1929 – September 29, 2008) was the consigliere and one time acting boss of the Bonanno crime family. On April 16, 2002, Spero was sentenced to life in prison. His lawyer requested leniency due to Spero's poor health, but the judge denied the request. On September 29, 2008, Spero died at age 79.

Carmine Galante (my personal fav boss)

The Infamous picture

Cesare The Tall Guy Bonventre - He was a member of both the Sicilian Mafia and the Bonanno Organized Crime Family operating out of Brooklyn, New York. A bodyguard to Bonanno boss Carmine Galante on the day Galante and three others were murdered. He survived the massacre and escaped. A main importer and trafficker of heroin from Sicily. Bonventre was shot to death, then sawed in half and stuffed into two 55 gallon drums of glue.

Alphonse "Sonny Red" Indelicato - was a caporegime in New York City's Bonanno crime family who was murdered with two other capos in an infamous gangland slaying as seen in the movie Donnie Brasco

Dominick "Big Trin" Trinchera was a Bonanno crime family capo who was murdered with Alphonse Indelicato and Philip Giaccone for planning the overthrow of aspiring Bonanno boss Philip Rastelli as seen in the movie Donnie Brasco

Phillip Giaccone

Rusty Rastelli - Imprisoned Boss of the Bonanno family "Rusty's gonna run it from "the can".

Phil “Rusty” Rastelli regained control of the Bonanno Family with Carmine Galante’s death in 1979. It was a family in turmoil, however. Constant inf*ghting had been going on since the Banana War. Rastelli was able to restore unity by ordering the murder of three rebellious Bonanno capos who had been plotting against him (see above)

Thomas "Tommy Karate" Pitera (born December 10 1954) is a former Mafia hitman in the Bonanno crime family. Pitera earned a reputation as a vicious and sadistic k*ller who enjoyed murdering people. He was suspected by law enforcement of as many as 60 murders.[1] He was well known for his use of karate and other martial arts when f*ghting which is a skill he had learned at a young age. It earned Pitera his nickname "Tommy Karate".

Tommy was/is a bad motherfu*ker but he wasn't the crazed maniac 12 and and that hack's book make him out to be.........

RIP but Phillip Carlo and Anthony Bruno wrote fictional stories about real people.........ie "the iceman", "the butcher" whatever the fu*k the book about casso was called ect.........

I can't even imagine how often he hears that.............

there has to be a reason its never happened............

other than the people that were dead by the end of the book everybody is still alive............

Donnie Brasco had a lot of issues(lawsuits, angry grand daughters) with some of the living mobsters they were portraying so maybe in the end it wouldn't be worth it just from that stand point..........

Capeci has wrote a lot of good books and is one of the best mob experts in the country, you almost know that he's been approached about a movie.........

Mob capo (John D'Amato) k*lled for being gay. Similar to Vito from the Sopranos.

Fearing they would be the laughingstock of New York's underworld, a mafia turncoat testified in court Wednesday that he k*lled his mob boss because he engaged in gay s*x.
Anthony Capo, a former soldier for the New Jersey-based DeCavalcante family, which is often described as the real-life "Sopranos," said he k*lled John "Johnny Boy" D'Amato after finding out about his secret life, the New York Post reports.

"Nobody's gonna respect us if we have a gay homos*xual boss sitting down discussing La Cosa Nostra business," Capo told jurors in Manhattan federal court.

I had the Gemini Twins in my mind but idw to do a story about them without getting blessings but I was thinking of creating characters loosely based upon them in a fictional setting. I just feel like your knowledge is an invaluable resource so it has to get applied to something. Plus it would give us more artistic freedom when telling the story if it's fictitious. We can kind of edit the wack parts oit basically. Kind of like how training day did to the rampart scandals.
