HOW TO MAXIMIZE YOUR 20s

What's up BX fam. There's this dude i follow on twitter that drops lots of gems in his threads. This was just one of them. I know some of y'all will appreciate this.

How To Maximize Your 20s:
Everything I learned the hard way, USE this knowledge people
You don't want to be fixing avoidable mistakes

1. College
Decide if you NEED college. Entrepreneurship, sales, business, real estate, programming, tech
Lots of $$ fields DONT need it

If you absolutely NEED a degree
-Complete GEs at Community college
-And/Or finish degree at HIGHEST status school possible
-Do not fu*k around in school and waste time getting fat and drunk
-Earn a high GPA
-Get done fast as you can
-Avoid loans at ALL costs
-If you can get scholarships, GET THEM
-regardless, start working WHILE IN SCHOOL

Doesnt matter if its side hustle 2 days weekly, WORK

2. Work and Career
-Repeat "Skills that pay bills"
-Anything that can be substantial side hustle, consider learning

You need 2 critical skills
-Sales
-Communication (which you learn through sales)

Sales jobs (of any kind) ensure youll always have a job
Sales job pay on performance, pay FAR more than hourly
If adamantly against sales, Serving and bar tending
Again, skills that pay bills

3. Finances
Start saving from your very first paycheck. Doesnt matter if its $5, start the habit of saving
-Save as much as possible (explain why later)
-Always pay expenses IMMEDIATELY
-Do not buy on credit, unless immediately payable back
-Always live BELOW means
-Do not spend mindlessly unless monthly income is at least TRIPLE monthly expenses
-track expense to income ratio

Pay off and all debts first of every month
-With basic savings, invest in Roth IRAs, Life insurance, Index funds. These are long long term

Your job SHOULD be one that has clear potential to level up in income YEARLY.
If not, reconsider what your career is

Do not waste $$ on status symbol purchases unless they are a blip on your expenses
If $100 of drinks drains your account, cut that sh*t out

Credit
-HAVE GOOD CREDIT
And DO NOT fu*k your credit
You will regret this later.
Always maintain a good credit score, non arguable

4. Friends
Do not have stupid sh*tty friends
Friends must be
-intelligent
-driven
-non drama
-improvement minded
If not, DROP THEM

friends that do nothing but drink, party, watch sports, get stoned, play video games, spend $$ on bullsh*t
ABJECT LOSERS, Cut them out
If you are NOT impressed upon meeting this person, they are not going to be your friend
Always think where they'll be in 20 years
"I wont have any friends!"

OH WELL.

Learn to be lonely for awhile till you work your way up to meeting better people

5. Relationships (Male perspective)
Gentleman, do NOT waste your time on long distance/stressful women/anyone that slows you down
If dating is a massive distraction, then put your head down and work
Do not fall for Oneitis, do not think you need to meet the "one" BS
Date fast, drop em faster if you have to
yep, that brutal.
Do not blow your career, $$, and momentum skirt chasing to your detriment
Learn game, learn how to maximize interaction with the opposite s*x,
Cultivate skills that make you interesting and attract by default
Do not waste $$ on bottles in clubs (unless your income can take the hit)
Do not waste time on clubs period, not unless you are the VIP

6. Health
Your 20s the health foundation for the REST OF YOUR LIFE
You need to optimize your health, starting NOW
Get into peak physical shape
Muscle, strength, and endurance
get as strong and as muscular you possibly can
Men AND Women both
Establish training rituals
Train 4 days weekly, meaning LIFT WEIGHT. Non arguable
Learn a recreational activity
Men, learn how to f*ght:
Boxing, BJJ, Muay Thai, Krav Maga
Learn how to throw a punch and take a punch
Develop your physicality so you have the energy for career

Do NOT get fat in your 20s
Do not eat and drink like sh*t and then joke about it
Train mean, eat clean, live lean, ALWAYS

Pullups-Be able to do 20
Pushups-50 in a set easy
Deadlift at LEAST double bodyweight
Be able to run 2 miles without a second thought
Get strong at compound movements, whichever versions work for you (squat, bench, deadlift, presses, pulls, rows)
Maximize Body Weight strength

Health in your 20s sets you up for every decade beyond
You waste these years, you're a FOOL
No idea what damage your causing yourself

Recap
1. College-only if necessary
2. Career-earn as much $$ as possible, pick something that's scalable
3. Finances-save, invest, 0 debt
4. Friends-high achievers only, no losers ever
5. Relationships-enjoy maximally, drop immediately if becomes source of stress
6. Health-optimize on every conceivable level, strength muscle endurance power. Establish habits to last a lifetime

7. READ-the last & final habit
Read, read often, read every day, always be reading 2 books
1 for pleasure
1 for personal development

Do all the above, and you'll be in the top 10% of human beings, guaranteed
image
Add in writing, and you'll top 1%

If you wanna change society then you need to learn to love the President Barack Obama route to life, or be selfish and bi*ch about society while everything stays the same but you're comfy.

most importantly, take care of your hair. You never know when that hairline might betray you

Aint nothing worse that looking 40 when you only in your 20'a becaues you're balding.

They tell you balding is genetic, but not taking care of your hair will cause that process to occur sooner than it needs to. You can have have your sh*t together but the thought of losing your hair at a young age can break down and depress any man. Trust me, I know

God damn. Not even one thing I can remotely argue with

Straight facts. I'm gonna try to print this out

If I had to add anything to the list, it would be:

-Learn as much as you can. Keep your brain active since it's a muscle

-Travel. You will get old and regret not doing so. Harder to travel with a family; even harder to travel when you're old. Some places also might exist today and be gone tomorrow ie. South Korea or might be so fu*ked up you can't even go ie. Afghanistan

-Never commit to women that will stray you away from your goals. Tell a woman flat out, I'm trying to do x,y,z.. and I'm not letting you slow me down or stop me completely, if you do, you're gone

-Don't father children. The easiest way to throw away your 20s is by adding a child to the mix. Once you become a father, you are no longer living for yourself, you no longer make decisions that will impact you and you only. The law will come after you if you refuse to accept your new responsibility, so it's better just to never have children.

what do you suggest in taking care of your hair? Keratin shampoo, coconut oil, Jamaican black castor oil and all that?

just had to end a long-distant relationship, first time ive broken up with a chick (havent been in too many relationships, the ones I have been in were all pretty long). i had to be real with myself and knew that trying to maintain something long term would be detrimental to me - felt good to be able to put myself first for once (something I struggle with at times).

i created a thread not too long ago about converting to a more frugal lifestyle. I've done spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on alcohol, clothes, marijuana and other stupid sh*t with little to nothing to show for it - ive become a lot more conscious about my spending recently and trying to set myself up right before i hit my 30s.

cheers to everyone trying to better themselves

i know friends who started balding (think its prevalent in south asian men) and that sh*t sucked every bit of confidence out of them. sucks cus most of these guys were pretty good looking dudes (no homo) and had no issues pulling girls, but once the hair started thinning they lost all that mojo

my dad is bald, i'll probably go bald too but i got at least 5 years left - goal is to find a shawty that'll hold me down prior to all that fu*kery

Very true! The only thing is, how many kids in high school Really know what they want to do? I knew I wanted to do business or at least learn business, so I majored in business management thinking it would be a safe degree I could get a variety of jobs with. Graduated and it wasn't the case so I then got into the IT field which I am currently in now and I could have gone straight into this field without going to college at all.

You find a kid that really knows what they want to do before graduating high school and they are miles ahead of the game, but I'm not seeing that to be the case for the majority, even some that "know" what they want to do, end up changing their mind when they actually start their programs in school.

I don't agree w/ the Friends part. If all your friend wants to do is party then that's what HE/SHE does. Another person's lifestyle shouldn't affect yours.

best advice that can be given on this.........

I spent my entire 20's in a drug induced stupor chasing money and chicks convinced that I'd die before 30..........

and because of that the first 3 years into my 30's have been spent on self improvement, learning from past mistakes and undoing some of sh*t I'd done in my teens and 20's.........
