Most people still don't care. Last I check, waterproofing isn't covered under the main warranty so unless you have the extended coverage you're taking a major risk.

But since you care so much lol.
Most people paying over $500 for a phone are going to want the same basic features all over flagships have.

There's also no warranty coverage because IP certified phones aren't "waterproof," they're water-resistant. Phone companies don't know the circumstances the user put the phone through to break said resistance.

The certification proves that the phone can withstand specific situations of being submerged. That is much better than YouTube videos from a company trying to sell you their product.

No water proof rating, no wireless charging, not that great of a camera, no headphone jack, and no Samsung Pay.

It's still a dope phone but for just a little more you can get a S10e. But that 90Hz display.

A lot of yall missing the point... if this phone sells good it’s gonna force the price down from all these other companies which in return gives us the consumers a better pound for pound product no matter what brand you rocc wit.

The OnePlus 6T barely sold on when it released on T-Mobile last year. What makes you think a more expensive OnePlus phone will all of a sudden sale more? It's not on enough carriers to sell in any meaningful numbers.

Exactly. OnePlus tripping
 Y.G. said
It has no IP rating, regardless of what weak a*s excuse OnePlus tries to give for not getting it certified.
It has waterproofing. Just no IP rating, which is pointless considering that a Galaxy S10 with an IP rating will still result in the SAME voided warranty if it has water damage

And why are y'all stuck on wireless charging in 2019? That tech has been around since 2012 and should have caught on back then but Samsung & Apple never pushed it. But now they want to when we have things like Warp 30 charging which can get you a 50% charge in 20 minutes. I wanted wireless charging back then...not now. Get with the times people. Wireless charge is trash tech for 2019.

I've already responded in the thread as to why IP certifications matter. Not going to repeat it again.

IP certifications > YouTube videos from a company trying to sell their merchandise

Bowl of rice > IP Rating....

Just saying...I've saved plenty of phones with no IP ratings just by tossing them in rice. Keeping falling for marketing gimmicks. Just as meaningful as the "Dynamic Contrast Ratio" wars of HDTV's.

Wireless charging is a huge convenience. A lot of cars have them built in. You don't have to worry about having a cord with you. Stop at Starbucks to get a drink and they got em built into the table.

It's a*s.

No expendable storage, no wireless charging, no IP waterproof, no 3mm jack, etc.

+ Camera is average and nothing special

Tbh I don't even care that much about all these features (except waterproof and camera) but for this price it's mandatory.

The IP rating is nothing but a paid for rating by a 3rd party....but the phone has water/splash resistant tech built into it. But OK

IP rating proves what situations a device will survive. OnePlus' YouTube video does not cover all these situations. If you trust their word over a certification, that's on you.

I'll just leave this here. OnePlus 7 Pro left under water for nearly 16 minutes and still works...

On my second OnePlus phone right now, started with the 5 then copped the 6 when it came out. No complaints, true flagship-esque specs without the price tag... Just wished they kept the headphone jack on this one

I'm sure that was a cool video, didn't watch though.

Do they have a video for that shows how that phone functioned a week later? Do they also have videos for each IP scenario? Didn't think so.
