Indeed. Still, I enjoyed watching the journey. I had no idea it would take so much to game in 8k. I thought you would just plug your console in, but this is a PC.

Goose eggs..... Im into gaming on the pc very heavily and they keep making these GPU that is way before it time. And dumb a*ses go buy the new GPU just to say they have the latest and greatest. But when they game it look just like the GPU they bought 2 years ago because games have not caught up.

Nah, I need 120Hz TV panels to drop soon. High refresh rates > 4k and 8k resolution for gaming.

I won’t poo poo on this, but A: ps5 at very best will be 4K 60fps (highly unlikely)
B: you can have a 240hz refresh rate TV, ps4/xb1 only do 30. Today to run a game 4K constant 60fps would cost 2000-2500$, at minimum you need a 2080Ti. That’s 1200$ . So ps5 to run 4K 60fps in my opinion is simply bullsh*t. It’s going to be “ps5 can do this!” But not a single game company can put a game out that meets those specs.

They be hookin cats out their money with these displays lol. 1080p is still the standard for the most part. Its even dominate over 4k.

I've been looking at getting a gaming PC. There's the enthusiast in me that wants to see what its like to run games with higher frame rates, and resolution. But the way technology is running, new cards dropping on a yearly basis, I really feel its a waste of cash and I could just as well enjoy gaming on the PS4 or switch. Never even seen high refresh rates or 1440p/4k so I guess I'll never miss it

LG OLEDs. You'll need the console or GPU to have the proper HDMI version first.

A game doesn't have to be 8k to benefit from the resolution.

You dont need the latest. For example, I have a 560x. And I can run everygame at decent graphics and get excellent fps.

I like to push things though. I make a few adjustments in the graphics departments, lose a few fps, but not enough for you to notice during gameplay.

But I will occasionally have a good 1-2 seconds worth of stutter. Not frequent enough to make a difference in gameplay.

If you got a 570, or 1060, the only difference would be you could put everything on ultra, and get waay more fps than I get. But not enough to make a noticeable difference.

You dont need the best sh*t. If I could upgrade and wanted to consider price, I would get a 570. I wouldnt go and get the absolute best sh*t I could find. It aint worth it imo.

But I suppose, running everything on super ultra and getting 100+fps, would be better, than having everything meticulously configured to where I get about 40fps, with a mixture of high, medium, and low graphic settings.

I use to have a 43" Vizio M-Series 4k TV I used as monitor that let you game at 120Hz. Only in 1080p tho.

My wife has an MSI 34" ultra wide that does 1440p at 144Hz and there's nothing like it. Playing Gears 5 on it is amazing.
