People need to realize that while Bill Gates was one hell of a computer programmer, that's not what made him rich.

What Bill Gates rich is that he realized that you could license the operating systems, instead of just selling them. That let him sell the same OS to everyone instead of having to make a new one for every customer.

He bought the OS that became Microsoft, reworked it, and licensed it to companies like IBM. This meant that everyone who licensed his software was running the identical OS to each other and that made it much easier for software programmers to build programs that could be run by many different companies.

And where did he get the idea to license instead of sell? Probably from his dad, a well established business attorney.

he got the idea more then likely from thomas edison, thomas edison didnt invent the light bulb, he just purchased the patents from who did and hired others to perfect it

what gates did was basically more up to date metaphor: buy a off brand jordan look a like shoe from china... then rebranded the chinese off brand name to his.

another exmaple is soulja boys game system, mofo was selling off brand game system with nintendo games on it, its how the country works

zuckerberg didnt invent facebook he was handed it lol

Lots of people had operating systems prototypes. It was his (graphical user interface) GUI and use of the mouse with the GUI that actually made it pop, which he stole from Steve Jobs, which Steve Jobs stole from Xerox.

Your partially right tho MS DOS was one of the first licensed OS at the time it was even being used by Apple and IBM.

I really doubt gates did much programming tbh. Bill Gates was just lucky to be in the right position at the right time and survived the OS wars largely unscathed

But what really made dudes rich was through licensing MS Dos allowed computers to now be in every home.

Before that it was a free for all and computers were only seen as a business machine.

But what really got n*gga's bank was Windows 95 and Microsoft Office. Before then there was barely any all in one word formatting sotfware.
